After Miami knocked off Ohio State last night, the national championship odds board has completely flipped. Before the remaining three games kick off, let's take a look at whether there is anything worth betting before the rest of today's slate. I had strong thoughts earlier in the week, but Miami's win shifted the board enough to force a reassessment. Maybe there is a team worth getting involved with at a new number. Let's dive in.

National Champion Insights

After No. 10 Miami upset No. 2 Ohio State last night 24-14, the odds to win the national championship have shifted in a major way. The Hurricanes, who were 14 to one to win it all on Monday, now own the third best odds on the board at +450. They have jumped past Oregon and Texas Tech, both of which also saw movement following the upset. The Ducks moved from +725 to +500, while the Red Raiders drifted from +700 to +750. Indiana and Georgia now sit at the top of the odds board, with both numbers shortening. Meanwhile, Alabama and Ole Miss continue to sit near the bottom. With three games still set to kick off in a few hours, it will be interesting to see how much more movement we get and whether another major upset shakes things up.

Where is the value?

I am still a firm believer in the idea that if you like Indiana, Georgia, or now Miami, the correct move is to wait. If you have not invested in this market yet and are looking to back one of the top three favorites to win it all, patience is key. As for Miami, the window for value has already closed. That number was there before kickoff last night, and it is gone. Moving forward, the Hurricanes will likely be underdogs in future rounds, which opens the door to betting them game by game instead of locking in a futures ticket at a deflated price.

Until this round is complete, my stance remains the same. Alabama and Ole Miss offer the most bang for your buck at this point in time. I am currently invested in both teams, along with a preseason ticket on Alabama to win it all. When looking at each team's path, the price is worth the squeeze.

Right now, the only teams truly grabbing my attention to win the national championship are, surprisingly, the two sitting at the bottom of the odds board. Indiana, Georgia, Miami Oregon, and Texas Tech, do not offer much value in my opinion.

The odds board has shifted, but the value has not. Patience remains key at the top, while Miami's number has already passed. The best opportunities still live at the bottom, where Alabama and Ole Miss offer the strongest combination of price and path.
