If Texas wants to have a shot at a share of the Big 12 regular season title, the #9 Longhorns must first win tonight at #22 TCU (9:00 pm ET, ESPN2).
Kansas wrapped up at least a share of the title last night with a win over Texas Tech, and if Texas (22-7, 11-5 Big 12) can’t win at TCU (19-10, 8-8 Big 12), the Jayhawks will win the title outright.
But if the Longhorns can win in Fort Worth, they will have a chance to claim a share with a home win over KU on Saturday.
Will TCU get win #20 and hand the Jayhawks the outright regular season title? Read on for our Texas vs TCU basketball prediction and picks.

Is the Under the Play in This Lone Star State Showdown?
When Texas and TCU met in Austin on January 11, the Horned Frogs led by 13 at halftime, but the Longhorns outscored them 50-33 in the second half for a 79-75 win.
That matchup went well over the set total of 143.5, but the numbers don’t favor the over for the rematch in Fort Worth.
Both teams are coming off of an over, as TCU’s 83-82 win at Texas Tech went well over the total of 144.5, while Texas’s 81-72 loss to Baylor went over the total of 148.5.
But high-scoring games have been rare in Texas’s road games and TCU’s home games in conference play, with 150 or more points being scored only twice in the Longhorns’ eight road games and the same number occurring in the Horned Frogs’ home games.
For what it’s worth, the over/under numbers are a little better, with there being identical 4-4-0 marks for Texas’s road games and TCU’s home games in conference play.
Texas vs TCU Prediction and Picks
Longhorns vs Horned Frogs Prediction: TCU to win
Longhorns vs Horned Frogs Picks: Texas/TCU under 149.5 (-110 at all of our recommended sportsbooks) & TCU -3 (BetUS)
I’m not as invested in a side in this one as I am the under, but I do give the edge to TCU at home. Texas has lost three straight on the road–at Kansas by eight, at Texas Tech by seven, and at Baylor by nine–and the Longhorns have failed to cover in all three losses.
Also, TCU is a much better team with Mike Miles Jr. on the floor. Since he returned to action, the Horned Frogs are 2-1 with wins over Oklahoma State and at Texas Tech and a narrow home loss to Kansas. And in Big 12 play, they are 7-4 SU and 1-4 SU without him.
