The BYU Cougars are unranked after losing three straight and four of their last five overall. In fact, they've been playing terrible basketball recently, and have a tough spot against the No. 10 Texas Tech Red Raiders at home to end their season. Now, it will be the second meeting between these programs, but both are missing key pieces from earlier in the year. The Red Raiders are without JT Toppin and the Cougars are without Richie Saunders. Does that completely even the playing field? Not necessarily, but our CBB experts have found their favorite picks in this game, so check them out below.

#10 Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. BYU Cougars NCAA Basketball Insights

Can Robert Wright duplicate his 28 point performance against the Red Raiders this Saturday at home? Texas Tech BYU Picks

Can Robert Wright duplicate his 28 point performance against the Red Raiders this Saturday at home?

The first meeting between these teams was back in the middle of January. In a hard fought game in Lubbock, the Red Raiders prevailed, beating the Cougars 84-71. It wasn't AJ Dybantsa or JT Toppin that led the game in scoring, as Robert Wright III went for 28 points on 9/17 from the field, including a perfect 9/9 from the charity stripe. Make your free throws, kids.

However, JT Toppin led the Red Raiders with 27 of his own and 13 rebounds as well. That's a lot of production they will have to make up in this second meeting, but they've learned to play without him on the court. In the first game, BYU shot just 23% from beyond the arc (5/22), and Dybantsa was held to just 13 points on 6/17 shooting. Will we see him rise to the occasion in his last game at the Marriott Center?

Texas Tech vs. BYU Prediction: Texas Tech Wins Outright, Over 159.5

Best Bet: Texas Tech Team Total Over 78.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

We don't have this line quite yet, but it should drop in the morning (or late tonight) around 78.5. I believe the Red Raiders are capable of scoring at least 80 in this matchup. Texas Tech ranks seventh in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency, and a lot of that is due to their three point shooting. The Red Raiders take over 47% of their shots from downtown, and do so at nearly a 40% clip. You need to defend the perimeter if you want to stop Texas Tech, especially without Toppin on the floor.

BYU can't do that. Not only do the Cougars rank No. 150 in three point attempts allowed per game, but they are No. 234 in the nation in opponent 3P%, letting their opponents hit over 34% of their shots from deep. Look for Christian Anderson and Donovan Atwell to light up Provo from downtown on Saturday. BYU's defense drops out of the top 100 in adjusted efficiency and rank middle of the pack in opponent eFG% as well. They just gave up 97 points to UCF at home, and let Colorado and Arizona both score 86 when they came to Utah.

Against a Red Raiders team that is fighting for a three seed in both the Big 12 Tournament and the Big Dance, I would imagine they play extra aggressive offensively. Texas Tech will focus on making sure their offense is primed and ready to lead them deep into March, starting with a great showing on the road this weekend.
