The Big East may very well be decided tonight as the clear two best teams in the conference go head to head in Hartford. The No. 6 UConn Huskies and Dan Hurley are looking for revenge "at home" as they face Rick Pitino and the No. 15 St. John's Red Storm. These two teams played almost three weeks ago at Madison Square Garden, as the Johnnies gave the Huskies their first conference loss of the season. Will they be able to bounce back and enact their revenge? Let's find out how our CBB experts are wagering this game with their favorite picks.

#15 St. John's Red Storm vs. #6 UConn Huskies NCAA Basketball Insights

Dan Hurley and UConn are in a revenge spot tonight against St. John's
In what was basically a pick 'em, the Johnnies beat UConn by nine points at Madison Square Garden on February 6. Now we see the Huskies are the "home" team, laying the 5.5 in Hartford. However this line has been dancing. The Huskies opened as 4.5 point favorites and were bought all the way up to 6.5. Now it has settled back down where I believe it will stay until about an hour before tip off.
Considering the home/away court swing, the number makes sense to me. Dan Hurley and company are in a clear revenge spot, in a game that will essentially decide who gets the No. 1 seed in the Big East conference tournament. Plus, a Huskies loss could also open up the last top seed in March Madness as well. Plenty of implications on both sides tonight should lead to an exciting ball game.

Both teams shot over 50% from the field in the first meeting, and UConn shot 47% from deep as well, but it still wasn't enough to get the job done. St. Johns shot almost triple the amount of free throws that the Huskies did. The Johnnies were 22/31 (71%) from the line, while UConn was just 5/12 (42%). That is not a recipe on how to win basketball games.
#15 St. John's vs. #6 UConn NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions

Dillon Mitchell is a glue guy for the Johnnies. He does whatever the team needs every single game.
St. John's vs. UConn Prediction: St. John's Wins Outright, Over 146
Best Bet: St. John's Team Total Over 69.5 (-120) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
I am on St. John's Team Total today, as I expect them to play the same style they did in the first matchup. They don't shoot all that many outside shots, but they push the pace, attack the rim, and get to the free throw line, where UConn is north of 300 in FT Rate defense. St. Johns already shot 31 free throws in the previous meeting, and given their tempo they might get their 40 times tonight.
While I am backing the Johnnies, I also have a player prop that I'll be on as well. We will be backing Dillon Mitchell of St. John's to go over 7.5 rebounds at even money. He only had six last time these teams met, but he's had six games with double digit boards this year and he plays his role well. Mitchell isn't afraid of doing the dirty work, and it shows in his game. He played 35 minutes against the Huskies, showing Pitino he deserves to be on the court during these tough matchups. Plus he's played 30+ minutes in seven of his last 10 overall, and I think eight rebounds is the floor in this contest where we should see plenty of missed shots.
