Nebraska is back in Lincoln, ready to protect its home court against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. The Cornhuskers are riding momentum from a big win last week and have been dominant in front of their fans all season. North Dakota is looking to challenge a top-15 team on the road, but they enter with one of the lowest-ranked offenses in the country. Tonight is about seeing if Nebraska can maintain its defensive stronghold while North Dakota tries to find a spark. Scroll down to see how the numbers paint the likely outcome of this matchup.

North Dakota vs. #15 Nebraska Best Bet

Sunday night college hoops brings a break from the NFL for those of us who want to watch some college kids clank shots. In Lincoln, the North Dakota Fighting Hawks take on No. 15 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Both teams are coming off wins in their previous matchups, looking to close out the first half of the season on a high note. Are we looking at a potential upset with Christmas break on the horizon? Not even close.

With Nebraska coming off a massive win over Illinois last week, it is unlikely they push to cover a 30-point spread. I expect them to show up and dominate North Dakota, but not to go all out against a team ranked in the bottom 35. That is why I like the Fighting Hawks team total under 61.5.

Away vs. Home Trends

The Cornhuskers have dominated at home this season, rarely allowing anyone to score more than 62 points. In seven home games, only three teams have surpassed 61.5, those being FIU, Winthrop, and USC Upstate. Teams held under 61.5 include Creighton, Wisconsin, West Georgia, and Maryland Eastern Shore.

At home, Nebraska has a top-ten defense, excelling at keeping their hands to themselves, locking down the interior, and controlling the perimeter. They allow a ton of three-point attempts, but opponents are only shooting 27% from deep against them. North Dakota will not be a threat, ranking 333rd in three-point percentage this season.

That is not the only area of North Dakota's offense that has struggled this season. They are 314th in second-chance points, bottom 35 in free throw percentage, and 255th in two-point offense.

On the road, the Fighting Hawks are averaging 63.9 points per game while playing the 208th toughest schedule. Nebraska, with the 40th toughest schedule, is allowing 59.3 points at home and 68.3 overall. The pace may be a little quicker than I prefer, but Nebraska's defense is too strong to allow a team like North Dakota to run and score at a high rate. I do not expect the Fighting Hawks to come close to 62, even with the Cornhuskers looking forward to Christmas break.

Best Bet: North Dakota Team Total Under 61.5 (-120) on Lucky Rebel
