Both of these teams are elite on the defensive end and average on the offensive side. Nothing represents this more than the over/under, which is set at just 124.5 points. To me, anytime the expectations are for this low of scoring output, it becomes increasingly hard to cover large spreads. While I do think that Virginia Tech is the superior team that has been much more battle tested throughout the season in the ACC, 8.5 points just seems like a lot to cover for two teams that play exceptional defense. It might flirt with the 8.5, but for my money, I am taking Liberty and the points.
