The second round of the MAC Conference Tournament features the Kent State Golden Flashes taking on the Bowling Green Falcons. The No. 8 seed Golden Flashes are coming off a huge upset win over the No. 1 seed Toledo, 67-59. Meanwhile, the Falcons are coming off a double-digit win over the fourth seed Central Michigan, 66-56.
Can the Golden Flashes keep their season alive by taking down the Falcons? Or will the higher seed advance to round three?

In their original meeting this year, the Golden Flashes won in overtime, 90-84. I think this is a great spot for the Falcons to get their revenge and advance to the third round.
The number makes you think the higher seed is the better team. However, I'm afraid I have to disagree. The Falcons have been heating up this month—the perfect month to come together as a team—March. Since March 1st, the Falcons have had a top-100 defense, 93rd in eFG% defense, and 67th in 3-point defense. Offensively, they have been one of the best rebounding teams in the country, 16th in offensive rebounding. They have also improved their perimeter shooting.

Meanwhile, Kent State has been underperforming this month. They ended the regular season 1-2 with an overtime win against Central Michigan and losses against Ball State and Toledo. They just got their revenge on Toledo Thursday afternoon, so seeing how prepared they are on Friday night will be interesting.
Since March 1st, they have been 256th in eFG% offense, 200th in 2-point offense, and 251st in 3-point offense. This team relies heavily on the deep ball and is 85th in three-point rate. With Bowling Green's improved three-point defense, I believe they match up very well against the Golden Flashes in their revenge spot in the conference tournament.
