Tonight, one of the best teams in college basketball visits one of the hottest as #3 Iowa State takes on Arizona in Tucson (10:30 pm ET, ESPN).

The Cyclones (17-2, 7-1 Big 12) are in a strong position for a #1 seed as February approaches, following a strong run through non-conference play with a near-perfect start to conference action.

But winning on the road has been a challenge for even the best teams this season, and a tough test looms tonight for Iowa State with sole possession of second in the Big 12 up for grabs tonight.

Arizona entered the season with aspirations as high as Iowa State's, but they were derailed by an early 4-5 start. But with nine wins in their last ten games, including a trio of ranked wins over Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Baylor, things are trending up for the Wildcats with some great chances coming up to boost their March Madness resume.

Iowa State vs Arizona Prediction and Best Bets

Nine days ago, Arizona's seven-game win streak ended with a 16-point loss at Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders (15-4, 6-2 Big 12), who moved into the AP top 25 this week, are fourth in the Big 12 and a very, very good team.

Still, such a result could have adversely affected Arizona. Instead, they have responded with back-to-back double digit wins at Oklahoma State and at home against Colorado.

That sets up a big game tonight at the McKale Center against Iowa State, who has also responded from its lone conference loss with consecutive convincing wins.

That the Wildcats (-2.5) are favored at home should come as no surprise, however. That is both because of the run that they are on and the struggles that many ranked teams have faced on their travels in recent weeks.

It should also come as no surprise that the home team is the pick in this spot.

Iowa State has passed some stiff tests this season, including an overtime win at Texas Tech two weeks ago. But Arizona is getting it done right now even with Caleb Love scoring 12 or fewer points five times in his last seven games. That augurs well for what they can do tonight against the Cyclones and going forward.
