Saturday brings us a plethora of college hoops on the slate, so get ready for a laundry list of plays from the Up Your Units lads tomorrow. However, I'll be taking my talents to Norman, Oklahoma at 1:00 p.m. eastern as the Sooners host the No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide. Nate Oats' team has been a bit of a let down this year, going 12-5 so far and 2-2 in SEC play. But anyone with working eye balls can tell they are light years ahead of the Sooners. Are they six points better on the road? I'm not totally sure, but let's get into our favorite picks and figure out how to wager on this matchup.

#18 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Oklahoma Sooners NCAA Basketball Insights

Nijel Pack leads the Sooners with 15.7 points per game in his sixth season of collegiate basketball
The Tide have played a very tough schedule so far, which makes me give them a little bit of forgiveness. However, they only have two ranked wins, and they came within their first four games of the season. Again, they've played the second toughest schedule in all of college hoops so far, with ranked losses to Purdue, Gonzaga, Arizona and Vanderbilt, and an unranked loss to Texas at home. After losing to the Commodores and Longhorns, they beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road, but face a Sooners team that is a bit sneaky.
Oklahoma is 11-6 on the year and just 1-3 in conference play. They also have a ranked loss against Gonzaga, and most recently lost to Florida at home on Tuesday, putting them on a three game losing streak. The Sooners lost to Mississippi State and Texas A&M on the road prior to their loss to the Gators. Will Porter Moser be able to motivated his team to stop the high flying Crimson Tide?

#18 Alabama vs. Oklahoma NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions

Labaron Philon and Alabama face the Oklahoma Sooners on the road this Saturday
Alabama vs. Oklahoma Prediction: Alabama Wins and Covers, Over 170.5
Best Bet: Alabama/Oklahoma Over 170.5 (-115) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
Get this number now. I expected this line to be closer to 175 or even 180 at opening, and it's already ticking up. I was able to snag over 169.5 for a buck 15 as soon as it dropped, and I expect it to close around the 175 mark. Anything under 175 is a go in my eyes, but if it gets closer to 180, I may be looking to middle. Regardless, there should be plenty of points.
Alabama is a very fast offense, they are super efficient, but they do not play a lick of defense. The Sooners are slower, but they get sped up with their opponents, and I see the Tide turning this into a track meet. Oklahoma also severely struggles on the defensive side of the ball. They gave up 96 points to Florida in Norman, allowed 83 to Gonzaga and 105 against Nebraska earlier this year.
Alabama has been held under 80 points just once this season, when they faced the No. 1 ranked Arizona Wildcats. On Saturday, they should have no trouble scoring. Nate Oats' team takes care of the basketball, but don't force any turnovers, ranking bottom 12 in turnover rate on defense. This should give the Sooners a decent look at the hoop each time down the floor. The advanced analytics have this ending at 177 (Bart Torvik), 172 (Haslametrics) and 174.5 (Greg Peterson).
Pretty sure those are all above the number it currently sits at, so we'll trust the stats and bet this game to go over.
