Game of the night is going down in Portland at the Moda Center. No. 7 Gonzaga takes on Oregon, both teams are riding winning streaks hoping to close out the first half of the season on a high note. The Ducks looking to add to their resume with a possible win over the Bulldogs, while Gonzaga looks to keep dominating everyone in their path. Do the Ducks have a chance this evening? Well, let's take a look.
Line Movement
The line opened at 12.5 in favor of the Bulldogs, since it has gone down to a full point. So has the total, that opened at 158.5, which is now at 157.5. Based off of Oregon's resume against top 100 teams, they should get absolutely dominated in this spot, but I do not trust them to cover this number. I have a ton of respect for this Gonzaga team, I have already bet them to win it all. However, with Christmas break looming, I want no part of them possible covering the 11.5-point spread. I love the over in this spot. Both teams love to run and there should be a high volume of shot attempts. According to Haslametrics, the Ducks are 109th in pace, while Gonzaga is 28th.
As mentioned, the Ducks have struggled against top 100 teams this season. In five games, they have allowed their opponents to score 82.6 points per game. For Gonzaga, a team that has averaged 83.1 points per game against top 100 teams. They are allowing 73.2 against top 100 teams. If the Ducks can step up on offense in their final big game before their conference schedule kicks off the over should be in play. It going over is more on their shoulders, I am not worried about Gonzaga scoring.
Sure, the Bulldogs have owned one of the best defenses in college basketball this season. However, they have taken on one of the toughest schedules in the first half of the season. The experienced Gonzaga squad could be looking forward to the week off to spend time with family and loved ones. They know they are one of the best teams in the country. They know they just need to come out with a win. So I would not be shocked if the defense is a tad sloppy.

Oregon has been one of the best teams in the country at getting after second chance points. If they can get after their missed shots and get put backs, they should be able to keep it close. On top of that, they are top 60 in free throw rate offense, getting to the line at a high rate. Plus, they are making their shots above a 71% clip.
