No. 10 Houston hits the road this evening for a Big 12 showdown against TCU in Fort Worth, with both teams entering at very different points. The Cougars are coming off a tough loss to Texas Tech and should be locked in for a response performance. TCU, meanwhile, has won two straight, including an impressive road upset of Baylor. This matchup sets up as a classic contrast in styles, with Houston's elite defense and slow tempo clashing against a Horned Frogs offense that has struggled at home. Expect Houston to control the pace and make scoring difficult all night.

#10 Houston vs. TCU Bet

Only three ranked matchups are on the slate this evening, as No. 10 Houston heads to Fort Worth to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. The Cougars are coming off their second loss of the season, falling to Texas Tech this past weekend. Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs are riding a two game winning streak, taking down Oklahoma State and Baylor on Saturday as a 4.5-point road underdog. Can TCU keep its winning ways alive, or will it fall victim to an all time get right spot for Houston? I think they are doomed…

Coming off a brutal 90 to 86 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday, the Cougars should enter this matchup with a massive chip on their shoulder. I am anticipating Kelvin Sampson's group to respond in a big way as they look to get back on track against the Horned Frogs. I am not overly interested in backing Houston with the points, but I do love the idea of the Cougars holding TCU under 65 points this evening.

Clamps City, USA

Despite allowing 90 points in their last game, this is still one of the best defensive units in the nation. Even away from their home gym, Houston grades out as a top 25 defense. They rank inside the top 75 in block percentage, turnover rate, and both two-point and three-point percentage.

The Cougars are also one of the slowest teams in the country. Even on the road, they are dominant enough to force this game to be played at a much slower pace than TCU would prefer. On top of that, the Horned Frogs rank 241st in tempo inside their home gym this season. So despite their overall season rankings, this TCU teams like to play slow.

Haslametrics grades TCU as the sixth worst team in away home court metrics, noting that the Horned Frogs have played their most inefficient basketball of the season when competing on their home floor. Through seven conference games, TCU sits at the bottom of the Big 12 offensively. They rank 12th in adjusted offensive efficiency, 11th in eFG%, 10th in two-point percentage, and 13th in free throw percentage. This is a spot where the Cougars should feast against a subpar offense.

Even with a slight drop off in points allowed on the road, moving from under 54 points per game at home to about 70 away from it, I still believe this Houston defense can clamp down an offense that has consistently underperformed on its home floor this season.

Best Bet: TCU Team Total Under 65.5 (-125) on Lucky Rebel
