See Picks & Statistics For The Game

If your pre-playoffs prediction was that the Miami Heat would reach the Eastern Conference finals, you are looking like a smart person right about now.

After torching the New York Knicks in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Saturday, the Heat are two wins away from a conference finals showdown with either the Philadelphia 76ers or Boston Celtics. They can knock out one of those wins tonight as they face the Knicks in Game 4 at the Kaseya Center (7:30 pm ET, TNT).

Will Miami move within a win of closing out the series? Read on for our prediction and best bets for Game 4 between the Knicks and Heat.

Will Season-Long Trends Continue to Be Defied in Game 4?

How things have transpired thus far in the playoffs for both the Knicks and the Heat defies trends that played out throughout the season for each team.

Entering their series with the Bucks, the Heat were 21-23 SU this season in games following a win. But in the postseason, they are 4-2 following a win, with the Game 2 loss without Butler one of the two losses.

On the other side, the Knicks entered the playoffs with a 16-18 SU record in games following a loss. But they have won all of their games following a loss thus far in the playoffs, including their Game 1 win in the first round against the Cavaliers, which came after a loss to the Indiana Pacers in their regular season finale.

Based on how things have gone so far in this series, the most sensible prediction is for the Heat to improve their record following a win, rather than the Knicks improve their record following a loss.

In the first three games of the series, the Heat have won eight quarters, while the Knicks have won four quarters. Three of the four quarters the Knicks have won came in the aforementioned Game 2, which Miami still led with less than five minutes left.

The Heat have been the better team in this series, and they have arguably been the most impressive team in the playoffs other than perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers, who are also going for a 3-1 lead tonight.

New York Knicks vs Miami Heat Prediction and Best Bets

Prediction for Knicks vs Heat: Heat to win

Best Bets for Knicks vs Heat: Heat -4.5 (Best Value: BetUS)

Best Player Prop Bets for Knicks vs Heat

  • Julius Randle over 8.5 rebounds (Best Value: BetOnline)

After missing the series opener, Randle has posted back-to-back double-doubles, which he hasn't done since going back-to-back against the Nets and Hawks in the two games prior to the All-Star break.

We'll see if he bounces back in the scoring department after going only 4 of 15 from the field and scoring just ten points in Game 3, but I feel very safe in my prediction that he will at least continue putting up strong numbers on the boards.
