Last night's games were simply amazing. Both games were decided on the final possession and all four teams left it all out on the floor. Tonight we've got two more and first on the docket is the Orlando Magic versus the Philadelphia 76ers.

Two teams that probably didn't expect to be in the play-in, but nonetheless here they are; fighting for a spot in the postseason.

Analysis & Breakdown

Dark Magician(s)

The turmoil surrounding the Magic right now needs to be discussed. Reports have come out that the Head Coach Jamahl Mosley's lost the locker room. Some reports even saying you have star players threatening to request a trade if Mosley isn't gone in the offseason.

That's never the kind of thing you want to hear as you're gearing up for the postseason and the Magic haven't even punched their ticket yet. It's the second straight year the Magic find themselves in the play-in games and for the second straight year a win would result in a matchup with Boston in the first round.

The Magic went out and got Desmond Bane this offseason, thinking he'd be the missing piece to pair with their two young superstars. It just hasn't played out like that. The Magic were the 2nd best defensive team in the NBA last year and this year that's fallen to 14th.

The team ranks 19th in opponent field goal percentage, 26th in opponent free throw rate and they're bottom-15 in points allowed in the paint. This defense will need to step up if the Magic hope to leave Philly win a win tonight.

Can't Catch a Break

At this point, I just feel really bad for both Joel Embiid and 76er fans. To no fault of his own, he's out again and without a timetable to return. What is this time? Appendicitis.

Joel went through surgery and will be okay, but now as the team prepares for their biggest game of the year, he can't suit up. The Sixers went 24-14 with Joel in the lineup this year, the team averaged 119.4 points per game in these games and they just looked like a completely different team.

Now without Joel, the Sixers went 21-23 and averaged just 112.9 points per game. The offense becomes incredibly inefficient and they struggle to find buckets in big moments. Tyrese Maxey has been phenomenal this year, averaging 28/7 on the year and shooting 46% from the field.

Rookie, VJ Edgecombe's been overshadowed a little by others in his draft class, but he's been great for Philly. He's averaging 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in his rookie year and he's had some big games against Orlando.

Wednesday Night's Best Bets

Anthony Black

Anthony Black o15.5 PRA (-110) | Lucky Rebel

Let's kick it off with something you probably didn't see coming, Anthony Black. The kid's in just his third year in the NBA, he's averaging career highs across the board and he's playing more minutes than ever before.

Black benefited from an injury riddled lineup that saw him start 40 games this year. He took advantage of the increase in play time and averaged 16.5 points and 4.2 assists per game as a starter. He became one of the Magic's biggest contributors and was playing 32.4 minutes per game.

Then Black got hurt at the start of March and since he's returned is averaging just 17.3 minutes per game. Black returned to a full lineup, with Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs all back on the floor.

Now I'm looking at Black tonight because of what he brings to the table defensively. He's been Orlando's best option guarding Maxey over the last three years and it's really not close. Black's held Maxey to a true shooting percentage of 52.3% whereas against Suggs it jumps to 71.4%.

Black's played Maxey eight times in his career, averaging 27.0 minutes per game and starting only two of the eight. Black averages 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game in these matchup.

Lastly, this is the second straight year the Magic find themselves in the play-in. Last year Black came off the bench, scored 16 points, dished out 4 assists and even grabbed 4 rebounds.

Andre Drummond o17.5 P/R (-110) | Lucky Rebel

It's 2026 and we're betting on Andre Drummond. Just hear me out before you close the page.

The Magic take 31% of their shots at the rim, that's the the 7th highest mark in the NBA. Over the last two weeks that's jumped to 34% and a lot of it is because their inability to shoot the three. They rank bottom 10 in three point frequency and have the third worst three point percentage in the league.

If the Magic hope to score points, they'll need to do it in the paint. Orlando's scoring 44% of their points in the paint this year and the only way the Sixers can combat that is Andre Drummond. He puts pressure on the offensive glass, he'll clean the defensive glass and give you some much needed shot blocking at the rim.

Drummond's cleared this line in 21/28 games where he plays at least 20 minutes; averaging 9.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Win and your in tonight. Feels like the perfect time to lean on the vet.
