After a dominant wire-to-wire performance against the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 3, the Los Angeles Lakers head into tonight with the opportunity to put themselves a win away from eliminating the Western Conference's #2 seed.

In Saturday's Game 3 win, the Lakers held the Grizzlies to just nine first-quarter points as they jumped out to a 26-point lead, and Memphis was never able to get within striking distance as Los Angeles claimed a 111-101 win.

Will the Grizz be able to respond from another double-digit loss to L.A. and send the series back to Memphis all knotted up, or does a 3-1 lead beckon for the home team? Read on for our Grizzlies vs Lakers Game 4 prediction and best bets.

Can the Lakers Make the Most of Their Strong Position?

Tonight, the Lakers will be looking to do what they couldn't quite do in Game 2 in Memphis after an impressive series-opening win.

In Game 2, they didn't take advantage of Ja Morant's absence, as Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, and D'Angelo Russell went a combined 11 of 37 (29.7%) from the field and scored 30 points after going 25 of 47 (53.2%) from the field and scoring 64 points in Game 1.

In Game 3, Davis was the star of the show for the Lakers as he scored 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, while Russell (17 points, seven assists) and Reaves (13 points, six rebounds) combined for the same number of points that the aforementioned trio compiled in Game 2. The Lakers also got a third straight productive game from Rui Hachimura, who had 16 points (6 of 10 FG, 2 of 2 3PT, 2 of 2 FT) and five rebounds in 22 minutes.

The Grizzlies could stand to get more production from their supporting cast in Game 4. Morant had 45 points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists, and he was 13 of 26 from the field, including 6 of 10 from three.

But other than Desmond Bane (18 points, 7 of 14 FG, 3 of 7 3PT), it was a pretty poor night for the rest of the team. Everyone named not named Morant and Bane combined to shoot 18.2% (4 of 2) from three and 28.3% (15 of 53) overall from the field, and Jaren Jackson Jr. (13 points, 4 of 12 FG) was the team's only other double-digit scorer.

Those issues were quite the contrast to Game 2, when seven players scored nine or more points to help the Grizzlies win in Morant's absence. If they are to even the series tonight, production up and down the lineup is vital.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction and Best Bets

Prediction for Grizzlies vs Lakers: Lakers to win

Best Bets for Grizzlies vs Lakers: Lakers -4.5 (Best Value: Bovada Sportsbook)

The Lakers have been the better team thus far in the series and have won both games in which Morant played, and I don't think that there will be the drop-off in performance at home that there was in Memphis following their Game 1 win.

Best Player Prop Bets for Grizzlies vs Lakers

  • Rui Hachimura over 13.5 points (Best Value: Bovada Sportsbook)

Hachimura has been a big contributor to the Lakers' cause thus far in the series, and he enters tonight's game averaging 21.7 PPG and 5.3 RPG and shooting 66.7% (24 of 36) from the field and 75% (9 of 12) from three. Look for him to continue to be a factor.
