The Chicago Bulls roll into the Mile High City to take on Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr. and the Denver Nuggets in a cross-conference showdown.
The 1st place Nuggets are looking to keep a strangle-hold on the Western conference and start to separate from the rest of the pack, while the Bulls have to treat every game like a must-win to possibly make a play-in game.
Vibes are certainly high in the Mile High City but the Nuggets can't get complacent.
They have loftier goals than just winning the West. The Nuggets have a big chance to go to the NBA Finals this year if they can continue to play at a high level.
Letting off the gas now just isn't an option and they aren't showing any signs of it.
They are 8-2 in their last 10, have won 4 in a row and will look to make it 5 tonight against a desperate Bulls team, on life support.
Chicago has lost 2 in a row, 7 of their last 10 and can't seem to get any momentum going.
They are currently 11th in the East and 2 games back from the 10th place Wizards and need to start stacking wins to have any chance of sneaking into the playoffs in the play-in games.
The one bright spot of late has been the play of Zach LaVine, who has averaged 30 PPG, shooting over 50% from the floor over the last 5 games.
If the Bulls want to hang around tonight with the Nuggets, they will need another big night from LaVine.
And I think the Bulls get it.
While I don't think the Bulls win this game, I think they cover the 9 points.
The Bulls are in desperation mode and even though they lost by 23 when they squared off earlier this season, 9 just feels like too many points tonight.
While I think the Bulls hang around and cover, MPJ might be my favorite bet in this game.
Porter Jr. has been on fire. He has 18+ points in 5 of his last 7 games, with all 5 being 20+ point performances.
If MPJ gets going early, it might be a long night for the Bulls. When these two faced off in November, Porter Jr. dropped 31, shooting 6-9 from deep.
While I don't know if he gets 30 again tonight, I definitely see him getting plenty of chances to get over 20 again.
For the great value at 18+, I LOVE MPJ to be great yet again.
Bonus: Michael Porter Jr. 20+ points (+140) BetOnline
