It remains to be seen if Giannis Antetokounmpo will be able to take the court for the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of their series with the Miami Heat, but the Bucks resoundingly showed on Wednesday night that they can win without the two-time NBA MVP.

After falling in Game 1 after Giannis exited early due to a back contusion, the Bucks were dominant in a 138-122 Game 2 win. The final score is highly flattering for the Heat, who gave up 81 first-half points and trailed by as many as 36 points before trimming the deficit with the result already well in hand.

Giannis's status for tonight's matchup in Miami (7:30 pm ET, ESPN) is still up in the air, but Milwaukee will be confident regardless of what is announced.

Will Miami be able to match that confidence and upset the odds for the second time in the series? Read on for our Bucks vs Heat prediction, as well as our Game 3 best bets.

Will the High Scoring Continue in Miami?

Including Wednesday's game in Milwaukee, the Heat are 4-11 SU and 3-12-0 ATS this season when they have allowed 120 or more points in a game.

If tonight's game follows the trend of the four regular season matchups between the Bucks and Heat, we won't see as much scoring as we did in Games 1 and 2.

In the head-to-head matchups in Milwaukee this season, there have been 238, 227, 247, and 260 points, and the winner has scored at least 120 points in each game.

But in the two head-to-head matchups in Miami in the regular season, there were 210 and 206 points.

If there are 210 or fewer points tonight, that might well favor the Heat, who are more predicated on keeping the scoring down than the Bucks are. But it is worth noting that Milwaukee is 8-3 SU and 6-5-0 ATS this season in games in which there were 210 or fewer points.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat Prediction and Best Bets

Prediction for Bucks vs Heat: Bucks to win

Best Bets for Bucks vs Heat: Bucks to cover (Best Value: -4.5 @ BetMGM)

Milwaukee showed in Game 2 that they are still very, very formidable even if they don't have Giannis. So, even if he doesn't play tonight, I am still on the Bucks to get the job done.

Best Player Prop Bets for Bucks vs Heat

  • Jrue Holiday over 17.5 points (Best Value: BetMGM)
  • Holiday over 25.5 points + assists (Best Value: Bovada Sportsbook & BetMGM)
  • Holiday over 31.5 points + rebounds + assists (Best Value: BetMGM)

After struggling from the field in Game 1, Holiday was sharper in Game 2, making 10 of 19 shots, including 4 of 10 from three, as he went for 24 points, five rebounds, and 11 assists.

With or without Giannis in the lineup, I expect Holiday to get enough opportunities to have another solid scoring effort.

Also, the other numbers are very reasonable targets. In addition to his 11 rebounds and five assists in Game 2, he had 16 assists and seven rebounds in Game 1.
