Main Event: Kevin Vallejos vs Josh Emmett Preview – Featherweight

UFC Vegas 114 Kevin Vallejos vs Josh Emmett Main Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Highly Anticipated Main Event

The legendary Veteran Josh Emmett will take on yet another top prospect in Kevin Vallejos tonight. As of late Emmett has only found himself in tough match ups against much younger fighters.

I guess at 41 years old it is bound to happen. Emmett has amassed a great resume and a very impressive highlight reel of brutal knockouts.

The Veteran is by far the biggest power puncher in the division and it has stayed that way for years. Since the start of his UFC run in 2016 Emmett has catapulted himself to the top of the division.

Establishing himself as a top contender he has 16 bouts under his belt with the promotion. On that run he has picked up 10 victories including 4 by brutal Knockout.

In 2023 we saw just how devastating Emmett's power still is when he put Bryce Mitchell out cold with a big overhand right. Unfortunately father time catches up to everyone and he is now coming off back to back losses.

His last bout ended rather quickly, being submitted by Youssef Zalal for just the second time in his career. With the bout being so quick, it is hard to tell if the 41 year old has lost a step.

Even at this age, Emmett will provide Vallejos with the biggest test of his career. Tonight will mark just the 4th UFC bout for the prospect Vallejos since earning his contract on Contender Series.

Can Vallejos Pass The Veteran Test?

Vallejos has certainly made a splash on the scene, going 3-0 with 2 very impressive knockouts. An anomaly in the sport being as he is just 24 years old, the UFC is fast tracking him with a Main event opportunity.

The prospect is determined to put the Argentina MMA scene on the map. Vallejos has shown phenomenal striking inside the cage, with great versatility.

In his last bout Vallejos showed just how creative with the striking he can be as well. He put a beating on the Veteran Giga Chikadze, landing a brutal combination before following it up with a spinning back fist.

In the grappling department Vallejos has shown decent takedown defense. The biggest downfall of his is the same as Emmett, the striking defense.

This match up is ever more exciting because of how aggressive each fighter is. With the mention of striking defense being a problem, this will ensure that this fight will be a war from start to finish.

Kevin Vallejos vs Josh Emmett Odds:

  • Moneyline: Kevin Vallejos (-550) vs Josh Emmett (+400)
  • Round Total: 3.5 Total Rounds – Over (-120) / Under (+100)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Kevin Vallejos By KO/TKO (-110)

Co – Main Event: Gillian Robertson vs Amanda Lemos Preview – Strawweight

UFC Vegas 114 Kevin Vallejos vs Josh Emmett Main Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Violent Women's Strawweight Bout

A Violent Women's MMA bout will help headline the card at UFC Vegas 114. Brazilian power puncher Amanda Lemos will take on top grappling prospect Gillian Robertson.

Lemos has made a name for herself inside the UFC with some impressive finishes. Her highlight reel is rare in Women's MMA as historically not many fights in the division end early.

In her 14 fight career with the promotion Lemos has gone 9-5 in that span. At one point she even contested for the belt, losing a dominant decision to Weilli Zhang.

One glaring problem has plagued her through out her career, her takedown defense. Lemos has been taken down and grinded out in 3 of her last 5 losses.

In those 5 losses she has been finished 3 times including 2 by submission. She has a tall task in front of her with decorated grappler Gillian Robertson.

Robertson has made a career resurgence since moving down to the strawweight division. Early in her career she struggled with the size and striking of flyweight contenders.

After a tough loss to JJ Aldrich, she made the switch to strawweight and has gone 5-1 on her run. Robertson has finished 4 of those wins including riding a 4 fight winning streak currently.

Robertson may not have the best striking, but has used her grappling to propel herself to the top of the division. This bout will set up some kind of #1 contender bout for the winner with the division being wide open.

It will be interesting to see if the grappling of Robertson will be enough to stifle Lemos gameplan. This bout has action written all over it and MMA fans are excited to see who will earn themselves a #1 contender fight!

  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-160) / Under (+140)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Gillian Robertson By Points (+170)
