Featured Preliminary Bout: Myktybek Oralbai vs Chris Curtis Preview – Welterweight

UFC Vegas 114 Josh Emmett vs Kevin Vallejos Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Highly Anticipated Featured Prelim Bout Of The Card

An exciting welterweight bout will cap off the Preliminary Card of UFC Vegas 114. Myktybek Oralbai will help welcome Chris Curtis to the welterweight division.

Curtis has typically fought at middleweight throughout his career, but made the switch before his last bout. The switch found some success for the veteran, as he was able to outlast Max Griffin in a decision win.

The welterweight move is not entirely new to Curtis as he has fought at that weight class several times in his career. A big question will be how his body will handle the weight cut now that he is 38 years old.

In a long UFC career Curtis has shined in his pocket boxing and durability. The Veteran has now amassed 11 fights in the UFC building a great resume and going 6-4-1 on that run.

There is no doubt for me that Curtis presents the perfect Veteran test for rising prospect Myktybek Oralbai. The prospect has made a surge in the rankings as of late with impressive performances.

Will Curtis Prove He Still Has Gas Left In The Tank?

Oralbai has now gone 4-1 in the UFC and is currently riding the high of back to back wins. Skipping the contender series, Oralbai got his shot on the big stage right away.

In his debut Oralbai put on a very impressive performance winning by 1st round submission. Fighting out of Kyrgystan the prospect has shown phenomenal wrestling and submission skills.

The only area of his game that he has shown needs improvement is the striking. Oralbai holds huge power in his hands but is sometimes a liability in his striking defense.

This paves the way for Curtis to provide the biggest test of Oralbais young career. This bout is sure to be fireworks and MMA fans across the globe are excited for a great match up.

Myktybek Oralbai vs Chris Curtis Odds:

  • Moneyline: Myktybek Oralbai (-375) vs Chris Curtis (+310)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-150) / Under (+130)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Myktybek Oralbai By Points (+135)

Vitor Petrino vs Steven Asplund Preview – Heavyweight

UFC Vegas 114 Josh Emmett vs Kevin Vallejos Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Hard Hitting Heavyweight Match Up

Vitor Petrino will return to action saturday night to take on rising fan favorite Steven Asplund. The bout will mark the 3rd bout at Heavyweight for the Brazilian prospect.

Petrino made the move to Heavyweight after a tough start in the Light Heavyweight Division. After earning a contract with an impressive win on Dana White's Contender Series, Petrino went on to go 4-2 at Light Heavyweight.

This includes back to back finish losses to Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby. Both losses came as much surprise to UFC fans as Petrino was a huge betting favorite in each fight.

Despite his athleticism, perfect physique and heavy hands, the durability concerns began to rise for Petrino. Since the move he has right the ship so to say, ripping off back to back wins at Heavyweight.

Asplund will provide the biggest test Petrino has faced yet at Heavyweight. A tough grinding type of fighter, Asplund made a splash on the Contender Series with a big knockout as a massive underdog.

The prospect has a fun story behind him aswell, Asplund once was 500 pounds. In pursuit of a MMA career, He went on to lose over 200 pounds and get himself into peak fighting shape to pursue his dream of the UFC.

Asplund has shown great cardio for a Heavyweight with great boxing in the pocket. If one thing is for sure it is that Asplund is a true Heavyweight that will put Petrinos true skill to test at this Weight Class.

Vitor Petrino vs Steven Asplund Odds:

  • Moneyline: Vitor Petrino (-237) vs Steven Asplund (+202)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-150) / Under (+130)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Vitor Petrino By Submission (+225)

Elijah Smith vs Su Young You Preview – Bantamweight

UFC Vegas 114 Josh Emmett vs Kevin Vallejos Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Top Prospects Square Off

Elijah Smith will look to continue his rise in the Bantamweight division when he takes on Su Young You Saturday Night. The match up will mark the 3rd fight in the promotion for the prospect.

Smith has made a splash in the UFC since earning his contract on the Contender Series in 2024. In the year 2025 Smith put together back to back impressive performances, including a highlight reel KO in his last bout.

Smith is the son of former UFC fighter Gilbert Smith Jr. The connection to the fight game has been entirely beneficial to him by building a great team around him.

Without the ins and outs of the fight game, Smith has been able to avoid some of the early career struggles fighters have. The UFC has gotten behind him and has given him multiple favorable match ups.

Including this one against Su Young You, which he has many physical advantages. The long striker will have a 3″ height advantage, a 6″ reach advantage, as well as being 7 years younger.

There is no doubt this fight is set up for Smith to shine, but You is no pushover. Since Joining the UFC Su Young You has been impressive in just 3 fights.

Riding a 3 fight winning streak, You has shown great grappling and control to secure wins. The 3 wins have came by decision which has raised many questions on You's finishing abilities.

You's grappling presence and high fight IQ will provide a great test for the prospect. MMA fans across the globe are excited for this bout as it will show just how far along Smith is in his growth and if You is a legit prospect.

Elijah Smith vs Su Young You Odds:

  • Moneyline: Elijah Smith (-230) vs Su Young You (+195)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-225) / Under (+189)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Elijah Smith By Points (+120)
