Headlining the card is a massive match up in the lightweight division. Rafael Fiziev will look to get back in the win column after a few tough match ups when he takes on surging prospect Manuel Torres.
The bout is specifically dangerous for Fiziev who is coming off a KO loss and taking on a KO artist in his next bout. The headlining bout is not the only excitement of the mid day matinee, as the preliminary card is stacked with hometown favorites in high level match ups.
Some of these prospects may not have the biggest reputation in the promotion just yet. I am here to give you guys a preview of the exciting under card of UFC Baku, so lets get right into it!

Featured Preliminary Bout: Farman Hasanov vs Eric Nolan Preview – Welterweight

The Highly Anticipated Debut Of Hasanov Against Eric Nolan
Saturday nights fight card finds itself an interesting featured preliminary bout. A head scratching debut of Farman Hasanov against UFC new comer Eric Nolan is set for 3 rounds.
Hasanov seems incredibly green considering he only has 5 pro fights under his belt. The last 3 coming under the LFA promotion a tight nit partner of the UFC which could explain his early signing.
What makes me scratch my head, is the featured headlining spot. Hasanov also trains at American Top Team which is considered a Top level gym in MMA.
I also have to question, why did Hasanov skip the contender series or even ultimate fighter to head straight to a featured prelim spot? It seems very apparent to me that someone knows something about how talented of a prospect Hasanov is despite his limited cage time.
There is no doubt this fight is being set up for the hometown prospect Hasanov to shine. The sentiment is much easier said then done, as the UFC is the highest level promotion in the world.
MMA fans have seen so many big favorite new comers drop the ball in their debut. It remains to be seen if Eric Nolan can even be considered UFC level coming off his just 1 UFC performance.
Can Nolan Bounce Back?
Eric Nolan signed to the UFC on short notice about 1 year ago. The 28 year old Canadian prospect took a fight against Baisangur Susurkaev on just a few days notice.
The bout took place at middleweight despite fighting his entire career at welterweight. Nolan surprised many when he rose to the occasion and had Suserkaev on the ropes at the end of the 1st round.
Eventually he was submitted after being hurt by Susurkaev on the feet. The bout did prove one thing, Nolan deserves another shot at the UFC in the correct weight class.
Nolan showed decent wrestling and takedown defense against Susurkaev which he will need in a big way here. He may hold the striking advantage though as Hasanov has not been tested in that department to much.
The bout is sure to be an exciting one as both fighters styles produce that type of fight. I believe the placement on the card is very fitting, it just remains to be seen if the Home town favorite Hasanov will have a picture perfect debut against such a formidable opponent in Nolan.
