Featured Preliminary Bout: Aaron Pico vs Patricio Pittbull Preview – Featherweight

UFC 327 Jiri Prochazka vs Carlos Ulberg Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Former Bellator Veterans Face Off In The UFC

The featured preliminary bout of UFC 327 will showcase two former Bellator champions with the new promotion. Aaron Pico will be making his second trip to the UFC octagon while Pittbull is now on his 3rd.

In his debut Pico suffered a devastating loss at the hands of top contender Lerone Murphy. Pico rushed in for a takedown and was hit with a spinning back elbow in which would become a KO of the year candidate.

The 29 year old prospect certainly hoped for a better start to his UFC run having aspirations of the title. In a series of unfortunate events I believe Pico may have not been ready for the big stage.

Despite having over 16 Bellator fights under his belt, Pico was never exposed to the top level of competition. There is no doubt he grew up through professional fighting and being thrown in the fire.

Will Pico Prove He is UFC Level?

Pico made his debut in Bellator at just 20 years old, with his first Professional bout being with Bellator. In a tough career thus far, Pico has grown as a fighter through being thrown directly in the fire.

A fantastic grappler with solid takedowns and great control time, Pico looks to get back in the win column here. Luckily for him the UFC has given him a much more favorable match up.

Patricio Pittbull is a legend of the sport at this point, with over 33 bouts in top promotions like Bellator, Rizn, and now the UFC. The multiple time champion made his UFC debut last year at 37 years old.

Through out his career many have speculated weather he was good enough to compete with UFC champions. Unfortunately he was signed in the back half of his career and fans will never know about Pittbull in his prime.

A fast twitch striker with solid grappling, Pittbull has accumulated an impressive resume. Though his career he has always struggled with his takedown defense.

Often times when he is taken down he spends the entire round on his back. A match up with Pico at this point in their careers does not bode well for Pittbulls known weakness.

Aaron Pico vs Patricio Pittbull Odds:

  • Moneyline: Aaron Pico (-350) vs Patricio Pittbull (+285)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-195) / Under (+170)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Aaron Pico By Points (+135)

Kevin Holland vs Randy Brown Preview – Welterweight

UFC 327 Jiri Prochazka vs Carlos Ulberg Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Exciting Welterweight Match Up Between Lengthy Strikers

A very exciting match up between length strikers awaits fans on the preliminary card. Fan favorite Kevin Holland will make his return to the Octagon to take on Randy Brown.

An interesting match up to say the least as these 2 have the longest reach in the Welterweight division. It is very rare we see 2 incredibly similar fighters face off.

Kevin Holland may be the more well rounded fighter of the 2, with great submission skills under his belt. The skills that has made him a very serviceable UFC veteran with an impressive resume.

Holland has had a long career with the UFC appearing in almost 28 bouts now. Father time and years of damage is starting to catch up to him as he is 2-3 in his last 5 fights.

To make matters worse he is currently on a 2 fight skid, suffering back to back decision losses. On this run it appears as his legendary chin has started to go with his age, he has been knocked down several times.

Will Holland Bounce Back?

If there is one thing that is for sure, it is that Randy Brown will give Holland the striking match he prefers. It is worth mentioning, Holland has notoriously struggled with lengthy strikers through his career.

Randy Brown is on a very similar career trajectory at this point. On the heels of a tough knockout loss to Gabriel Bonfim, which in my oppinion is nothing to get discouraged of as Bonfim is a top prospect.

Despite that loss, Brown has found some success later in his career. Brown has gone 4-2 in his last 6 fights even riding a 3 fight winning streak going into 2024.

Unfortunately in 2024 Father time started to show its ugly head as Brown lost 2 fights in 1 calendar year. The losses ruined his title aspirations and have reverted him back into a serviceable Veteran to take on prospects.

The UFC has done him a favor here giving him a match up of his caliber at this point in his career. This bout is sure to be an exciting striking affair from start to finish.

I believe this is the perfect time for this match up as both fighters have nothing to lose. In a strikers delight, I believe both fighters will meet in the middle to throw down and see who is more durable at this point.
