Featured Prelim: Cody Garbrandt vs Long Xiao Preview – Bantamweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Exciting Featured Bout Of The Preliminary Card

The Preliminary card of UFC 326 will certainly end with some fireworks. Longtime UFC veteran Cody Garbrandt will take a step down in competition to take on Chinese prospect Long Xiao in an exciting match up.

Garbrandt has been with the UFC for just over 10 years now creating quite the legacy for himself along the way. The longtime flyweight has now had 16 fights with the promotion, including 5 fights at his new weight class of bantamweight.

Unfortunately Garbrandt has not been on a great run as of recently. The veteran is coming off back to back losses, including a loss to a seasoned grappler Barcelos in his last bout.

Through out his career Garbrandt has notoriously shown a brawl heavy style, marching forward throwing big punches. This style has been both an advantage and disadvantage to Garbrandt, as his chin started to go with his age when he was a Flyweight.

Since the move to bantamweight we have not seen any chin concerns but he has not been tested quite like the prospect Long Xiao will. This will be a classic veteran vs prospect match up as Long Xiao has just 3 official fights in the UFC.

The prospect has not had a good start to his UFC career, going 1-2 in his 3 bouts. Xiao earned his contract with the UFC with back to back Road To The UFC wins.

Despite his 2 losses, Xiao has proven he is UFC level with both decision losses being very close fights. He has also shown just how heavy his hands are with an impressive KO victory over Quang Le.

There is no doubt the prospect will be hungry to get back into the win column here. MMA fans should be excited to see if Xiao gives Garbrandt the brawl he wants or if Garbrandt will fail to stop Xiaos grappling instead.

Cody Garbrandt vs Long Xiao Odds:

  • Moneyline: Cody Garbrandt (+135) vs Long Xiao (-155)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-165) / Under (+145)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Long Xiao By Points (+165)

Donte Johnson vs Cody Brundage Preview – Middleweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Rising Prospect Johnson Takes On Veteran Brundage

A veteran will be making a quick turn around against a rising prospect in this match up. Rising contender Donte Johnson will take on veteran Cody Brundage Saturday night.

Brundage is a long time UFC veteran and will be making a quick 4 week turn around. In January Brundage took on another rising prospect in Cam Rowston where he was subsequently knocked out in the second round.

Despite that medicals have cleared him to take on another heavy puncher in Johnson. Brundage may be a long time UFC Veteran, but he has not had the best run with the promotion.

In a span of 12 fights the veteran has gone 5-7 in that run including being finished in 4 of those losses. The UFC is consistently matching him up with rising prospects where he is certainly not the "A side" in the match up.

He will have yet another tough task in front of him with decorated knock out artist Donte Johnson. The rising contender has made a splash in the UFC with a flashy debut knockout over Sedriques Dumas.

The highlight reel KO came after adding another highlight to his resume on the Contender Series. Johnson made quick work of that opponent as well, finding the KO in just over a minute to secure a contract.

There is no doubt Brundage is the best wrestler Johnson has fought in his career. It will be interesting to see if Brundage will be able to take the damage in order to get his wrestling going in this match up.

Donte Johnson vs Cody Brundage Odds:

  • Moneyline: Donte Johnson (-900) vs Cody Brundage (+600)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (+157) / Under (-180)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Donte Johnson By KO/TKO (-175)

Alberto Montes vs Ricky Turcios Preview – Bantamweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Turcios Welcomes Montes To The UFC

Ricky Turcios finally makes his return to the octagon after having a bout cancelled on short notice in January. Unfortunately for him, this match up is significantly harder then his first.

Alberto Montes will make his UFC debut against Turcios Saturday night. In what has become a common theme in Turcios career, he takes on another fresh prospect in Montes.

Turcios joined the UFC scene after making an impressive splash on The Ultimate Fighter. The veteran went 2-0 before winning the finale in a close split decision against Brady Hiestand.

He went on to lose his official UFC debut and unfortunately has not had the best start to his UFC career. Turcios has since gone 1-2 in his next 3 bouts while currently coming off back to back losses.

The UFC has done him no favors with the Montes match up either. Montes is an impressive Venezuelan prospect coming off a highlight reel performance on the Contender series.

The prospect secured a UFC contract by dismantling his opponent in the grappling. Montes finished that fight in the 2nd round with an impressive submission.

A theme to his career as he now has 6 submission wins on his record. MMA fans across the globe are looking forward to his debut as Turcios scrambling abilities should provide a great test for Montes.

Alberto Montes vs Ricky Turcios Odds:

  • Moneyline: Alberto Montes (-185) vs Ricky Turcios (+160)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-150) / Under (+130)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Alberto Montes By Submission (+200)

Cody Durden vs Nyamjargal Tumendemberel Preview – Flyweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Interesting Match Up On The Main Card

Long time UFC veteran Cody Durden will make his return to the octagon Saturday. Durden draws a tough match up in his return against prospect Nyamjargal Tumendemberal.

In 13 career UFC bouts Durden has shown great wrestling and monster cardio. The veteran is relentless with takedowns dragging his opponents to the mat over and over again.

Through out his career he has made improvements in his game. The striking seemed to be an issue early in his career but his pocket boxing has significantly improved over the years.

It seems as the older he gets, the more his chin goes which has been his Achilles heel thus far. The 34 year old has been finished in 4 of his last 5 losses and certainly seems to be at the end of his career.

Tumendemberal is a tough out for anyone in the Flyweight division. The prospect has made his splash in the UFC by competing on The Road To UFC series where he went 3-0 in 3 bouts.

In between those bouts he made his UFC debut where he lost a close decision. The bout was very competitive and in my opinion proved he was UFC level.

The prospect is fighting out of Mongolia and is a very well rounded fighter. Tumendemberal is equally as dangerous in the striking and in the grappling.

He has landed multiple highlight reel submissions including 2 on the road to UFC. Due to Durden having  5 submission losses on his record, it makes this bout that more interesting.

Cody Durden vs Nyamjargal Tumendemberel odds:

  • Moneyline: Cody Durden (+125) vs Nyam Tumendemberal (-145)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (+135) / Under (-155)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Nyamjargal Tumendemberel By Points (+275)

Sumudaerji vs Jesus Aguilar Preview – Flyweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Match Up Of Top Prospects

The UFC saved one of their top Mexican prospects for a big bout this week. Jesus Aguilar will take on UFC veteran Sumadaerji in an exciting match up on the Preliminary card.

Aguilar has made quite the name for himself and propelled himself into Mexican superstardom with a few impressive wins. The prospect has gone 4-2 in 6 fights in the UFC including 2 flashy finishes to add to his resume.

Aguilar is rolling into the match up with some momentum coming off a big win. In his last match up he was able to out point fellow prospect Luis Garule as a big underdog.

He has drawn a tough match up in his next bout as Sumadaerji is by far the biggest opponent he has faced. There will be an astounding 4 inch height advantage and over a 10″ reach advantage between the fighters.

To make matters a little worse for Aguilar, Sumadaerji is a seasoned veteran in the UFC with a great resume of high level fighters. Sumadaerji is a long and lengthy striker that uses distance well to outpoint his opponents.

In the UFC he has also shown off his wrestling and grappling prowess. The veteran is rolling into the match up with a momentum as well on the heels of a 2 fight winning streak.

The UFC knows exactly what they are doing with this match up as it is sure to be fireworks with the fighters styles. It will be interesting to see which prospect asserts themselves with a dominant win.

Sumudaerji vs Jesus Aguilar Odds:

  • Moneyline: Sumudaerji (-240) vs Jesus Aguilar (+205)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-175) / Under (+153)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Sumudaerji By Points (+125)

Gaston Bolanos vs Jeong Yeong Lee Preview – Featherweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Match Up Of Prospect And Veteran

Top UFC prospect Jeong Yeong Lee will look to get back in the win column Saturday night when he takes on Gaston Bolonos. Bolonos will be just as hungry for a win as he is coming off a loss aswell.

In his 13 fight career Bolanos has fought on big stages since the start. The veteran spent 5 years with Bellator before signing to the UFC where he went 6-3.

Finally getting his chance with the UFC Bolanos has not done much with the opportunity. He has gone 2-2 with 2 decision wins and both losses coming by finish.

It must be said that the Veteran has fought some top contenders including a match up with Marcus Mcghee. Bolonos should provide a great test for the Korean prospect Young – Lee.

Young Lee got his shot in the UFC by winning back to back fights on the Road To UFC series. He went on to narrowly win his UFC debut over fellow prospect Yizha and then a very decisive victory in the following bout.

Young Lee showed a lot of promise as he started his career garnering some hype as a legit prospect. Unfortunately he received back to back bouts that were a huge step up in competition.

Losing both fights and now on a 2 fight losing skid, he looks to get back in the Win column with a statement victory. The Korean prospect has the versatility to style on a fighter like Balonos and the UFC knows exactly what they are doing with this match up.

Gaston Bolanos vs Jeong Yeong Lee Odds:

  • Moneyline: Gaston Balanos (+285) vs Jeong Yeong Lee (-350)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (+105) / Under (-125)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Jeong Yeong Lee By KO/TKO (+215)

Luke Fernandez vs Rodolfo Bellato Preview – Light Heavyweight

UFC 326 Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Debut Prospect Fernandez Takes On Veteran Bellato

The Preliminary Card is set to kick off with a bang Saturday night in Las Vegas. UFC veteran Rodolfo Bellato will welcome debutant Luke Fernandez to the light heavyweight division.

Bellato is set to take on his second straight rising prospect as well. On a weird run as of late the Brazilian is win less in his last 3 bouts but only 1 official loss in that span.

A bout with another UFC veteran in Jimmy Crute resulted in a split draw as Crute rallied late in the fight after Bellato was up early. Bellato's very next match up also ended in controversy as it was ruled a NC due to an illegal upkick KO against Paul Craig.

The acting performance Bellato put on in hopes to get a DQ win will go down in the history books. In this match up the Veteran will have his hands full with rising prospect Luke Fernandez.

Fernandez is very green to the fight game with just 5 professional bouts on his record. Additionally he did have one bout on Dana White's Contender series where he scored an impressive 1st round KO.

The impressive performance was enough to earn him a UFC contract and opportunity to open up the card. Fernandez is a primarily a grappling specialist despite his impressive KO ability.

The prospect has great wrestling and a high level BJJ prowess, the question has always been if he can round out his skills with striking. Rodolfo Bellato provides the perfect Veteran test to see if Fernandez is the real deal.

Luke Fernandez vs Rodolfo Bellato Odds:

  • Moneyline: Luke Fernandez (-225) vs Rodolfo Bellato (+190)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-120) / Under (+100)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Luke Fernandez By KO/TKO (-130)
