Featured Prelim: Junior Tafa vs Billy Elekana Preview – Light Heavyweight

UFC 325 Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

The Featured Bout Of The Preliminary Card

The featured Prelim of the night is a very exciting match up between two fighters willing to throw down. Home town hero Junior Tafa will make his return against rising prospect Billy Elekana.

Tafa has been on a tough stretch as of late, the loser of 3 of his last 4 fights. All of 3 of those losses come by finish, showing real durability concerns.

Another thing to mention is Tafa has now been submitted twice in his last 3 fights. The lack of grappling progression should be a massive red flag for potential Tafa bettors.

Across the cage, Elekana will look to add onto his hot start in the UFC. Elekana has now won 2 straight fights after dropping his debut to top contender Bogdan Guskov.

The rising prospect is quickly climbing the rankings and looking to take advantage of a big opportunity at UFC 325. Elekana could find himself into much bigger fights with an impressive victory here.

Junior Tafa vs Billy Elekana Odds:

  • Moneyline: Junior Tafa (+215) vs Billy Elekana (-255)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-130) / Under (+110)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Billy Elekana By Submission (+175)

Cam Rowston vs Cody Brundage Preview – Middleweight

Moneyline: Round Total:  Most Likely Method Of Victory:

Exciting Middleweight Match Up

Another home town favorite finds himself in an exciting match up on the prelims. This one being a lot more favorable, Cam Rowston takes on long time UFC Veteran Cody Brundage.

Rowston, a city kickboxing protege has made quite the splash in the UFC. An impressive victory in his contender series bout has earned him a contract with him fully taking advantage of his opportunity.

An impressive debut finish over Andre Petroski has kicked off his UFC career with a bang. In this match up he seems to be getting a little bit of a step down in competition with a pairing of Cody Brundage.

The UFC has taken care of him and given him another opportunity to shine. Brundage has had a tough run in the UFC and often is used as a stepping stone for other top prospects.

His most recent loss raised even more questions of his motivation at this point in his career. Typically losing to top prospects but handling other fighters of his own class, he loss a close decision to Eric McConico who many believe is not UFC caliber.

At this stage of his career it is very clear Brundage sees the end of the road ahead. The UFC has taken advantage of that and set up a match up to exploit Brundage's weakness one last time.

Cam Rowston vs Cody Brundage Odds:

  • Moneyline: Cam Rowston (-360) vs Cody Brundage (+295)
  • Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-115) / Under (-115)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Cam Rowston By KO/TKO (+165)

Jacob Malkoun vs Torrez Finney Preview – Middleweight

UFC 325 Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

High Level Grappling Match Up

A high Level Grappling Match up lies ahead on the Preliminary card of UFC 325. Decorated Wrestler Torrez Finney takes on Australian prospect Jacob Malkoun.

The match up is sure to be a clash of wrestling styles, as Malkoun has proven he has top skills in that department. Malkoun is a formattable match up for Finney, with solid wins in his UFC career over top wrestlers.

Including his last win over high level grappler Andre Petroski, where Malkoun was able to stuff a takedown and find the KO finish. The Australian will provide yet another test for Finney to pass since joining the UFC.

Finney has had quite the controversial start to his career after needing to produce 3 wins on the Contender series to earn a contract. Due to his style and low volume, Finney was not providing any entertainment value or showing the all around skills needed to compete at the level.

In his debut fight, Finney went back to some of his old ways with yet another disappointing victory over Robert Valentin. The victory was again highly scrutinized after Finney landed just under 5 significant strikes in the duration of the 3 rounds.

There is no doubt Finney has the wrestling skills to compete, but will this be the fight he finally shows aggression and lets his hands go?

Jacob Malkoun vs Torrez Finney Odds:

  • Moneyline: Jacob Malkoun (-145) vs Torrez Finney (+125)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-175) / Under (+153)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Jacob Malkoun By Decision (+170)

UFC 325 Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Australian Prospect Micallef Takes On Oban Elliott

Australian fans get another match up of one of their own on the UFC 325 Prelims. The hyped Australian prospect Jonathan Micallef takes on Oban Elliot in a high level 3 round affair Saturday night.

Elliot is a highly touted prospect himself, a former Cage Warriors staple & training out of notorious gym Shore Mixed Martial Arts. The Welch prospect has made a name for himself since getting a contract on the Contender Series.

A record of 3-1 since joining the UFC, with his only loss coming to top prospect Serok Hyeon Ko where he was simply out worked. His 3 wins are over high level prospects which is what gives most MMA fans hope for his career.

A high level grappler, this will be an interesting match up for Micallef as of course he prefers to strike. Micallef also has made a statement since joining the UFC off the contender series.

In his last bout he found himself as a massive underdog, yet still was able to dominate the fight and secure the win over high level prospect Jousset. Now he gets a little bit of a tougher match up in his back yard, MMA fans are interested to see how he will fare against a high level grappler.

Jonathon Micallef vs Oban Elliot Odds:

  • Moneyline: Jonathon Micallef (-134) vs Oban Elliot (+114)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-220) / Under (+186)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory:  Jonathon Micallef By Points (+180)

Kaan Ofli vs Yizha Preview – Featherweight

UFC 325 Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes 2 Preliminary Card Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

High Level Featherweight Bout Opens The Preliminary Card

A high level match up of featherweights opens the Preliminary Card of UFC 325. Former Ultimate fighter finalist Kaan Ofli will take on Chinese Prospect Yizha in an exciting 3 round bout.

The match up is sure to be fireworks as both prospects are coming off impressive finish victories after having tough starts to their UFC careers. It is hard to say who drew the worse of the match ups, but Offli had to fight top prospect Mairon Santos and high level grappler Muhammad Naimov in his first 2 bouts.

Not an easy start for anyone but Offli showed his toughness and high level skills even in those 2 losses. In his last bout he finally got the monkey off his back and collected his first UFC victory with a big time finish over Ricardo Ramos.

Offli finds himself in another tough match up with high level prospect Yizha who is also looking to build on the momentum of a big finish. Yizha also got the monkey off his back with a big knock out win over Westin Wilson to gain his first UFC victory.

Finally gaining some momentum after drawing a very tough match up in Gabriel Santos to start his career. Even in that loss, Yizha made the fight very close showing great striking and an impressive grappling threat.

This match up is sure to be a clash of rising prospects, and a great way to start the Preliminary card of UFC 325.

Kaan Ofli vs Yizha Odds:

  • Moneyline: Kaan Ofli (+174) vs Yizha (-210)
  • Round Total: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-240) / Under (+180)
  • Most Likely Method Of Victory: Yizha By Points (+125)
