AdBack for Week 7 of my tenure at Betting News. Last week we went 5-1 for a profit of 4.73 Units. That brings the Year to Date record to 20-12 for a profit of 10.43. We'll begin the month of August by looking at my Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves Picks and Analysis.
Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves Picks and Preview
The Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves continue their 4 game divisional clash tonight, at Truist Park, in Atlanta. The Bravos have won the frist two game of the series by scores of 5-4 and 6-2. Atlanta cruised to a win last night, thanks to their bats, highklighted by a 3 run 6th inning bomb by Michael Harris. Both contets have stayed under the total, will that hold true tonight? Let's dive in…

Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves Predictions and Best Bets

Game Pick: Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves Over 9.5 +102 Lucky Rebel
It is Miles Mikolas day and while I was tempted to back the Braves on their Team Total over, I am opting for the full game over instead. The Washington right hander has had another rough season. Mikolas owns an ERA of 5.65 and an xERA of 5.20. On the road he owns an ERA of 5.29 and a WHIP of 1.30. Opposing him is Reynaldo Lopez. The Atlanta right hander owns an ERA of 3.64 and an xERA of 4.61. He pitches to a 3.79 ERA at home on a WHIP if 1.26.
Both of the offenses are very potent. The Nationals are averaging 5.1 runs/9 vs right handers on the road while the Braves are averaging 5.9 runs/9 vs right handers at home. Both offenses also had a spectacular July at the plate against right handed pitching. Atlanta was 2nd in runs scored at 105, while the Nationals were 6th at 92. Washington lead the league with a .280 batting average while Atlanta was 4th at .264. Finally, the Nationals were 1st in wRC+ at 141 and the Braves were 5th at 122.
This matchup should produce runs with the way these lineups have been hitting, we should finally see an over in this series here tonight.
Player Prop: Luis Garcia Over 1.5 Total Bases +123 Lucky Rebel
The Washington first baseman is having a breakout season. He is hitting .283 with 23 home runs and 76 runs batted In, all career highs. On the road he is hitting .308 with 12 home runs and 43 runs batted in. Garcia is hitting .292 vs right handers with an ISO of .296. He is 5/9 lifetime vs Lopez and here are his numbers against the pitch mix he will see tonight:
- 4 Seam Fastball: .287 ISO/50.0 Hard Hit%
- Slider: .176 ISO/28.3 Hard HIt%
- Curveball: .350 ISO/51.7 Hard Hit%
He crushes 2 of the 3 pitches he'll see. Garcia collected 9 bases in the series opener but was held to a goose egg last night. I like him to rebound tonight, in this spot.
Player Prop: Michael Harris Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs +113 Lucky Rebel
We have another hitter having a fantastic season in Atlanta centerfielder Michael Harris II. He is hitting .292 with 20 home runs and 64 runs batted In. At home he is hitting .284 with 9 home runs and 34 runs batted in. Harris is hitting .300 vs right handers with an ISO of .211 and he has cleared this mark in 7 of his last 10 home games. He is 5/13 lifetime vs Mikolas with a double and here are his numbers against the pitch mix he will see tonight:
- 4 Seam Fastball: .253 ISO/54.4 Hard Hit%
- Sinker: .41 ISO/50.7 Hard Hit %
- Slider: .226 ISO/49.0 Hard Hit%
- Curveball: .111 ISO/33.3 Hard Hit%
Harris should be active on the base-paths tonight and with this wager, his teammates can do some work by driving him in.
