It has been the complete opposite for the Chicago White Sox. The pale hose were one of the worst teams in major league baseball last season but currently sit 3.5 games up in the American League Central Division. It is going to be very interesting to see if the can hold that lead going into September. These teams have split the first two games of the series with the White Sox winning 6-4 on Friday night and the Mets responding with a 10-5 victory last night. How will the rubber match play out? The Chicago White Sox will use an opener this afternoon. Left hander Sean Newcomb is only expected to go an inning or two then he will give way to right hander Erick Fedde. Although the New York Mets have had a season to forget, Fedde poses a good matchup for them in their current form. Over the last 30 days when facing rigfht handed pitching on the road the Mets 8th in the majors in runs (45), 2nd in batting average (.284), 1st in OPS (.861) and 2nd in wRC+ (134). Erick Fedde is 6-8 on the season with a 4.33 earned run average and a 1.40 WHIP. He's been a bit better at home where he sports a 3.62 earned run average on a 1.41 WHIP. I think the Mets can get to him today and put some runs on the board, in the series finale.

Bichette also hits much better on the road where he sports a .285 batting average with 21 extra base hits. He also has fantastic numbers against Fedde as he is 6/11 lifetime against him, with 4 doubles. Bo has registered 9 total bases in the first two games of this series, homering in both. I like him to continue the hot hitting today.
