Another standalone game tonight in the MLB playoffs and it's a big one. Dodgers trailing 2-0 in the series to Milwaukee and need a win tonight. Los Angeles has won the last two World Series and seemingly always comes through in games like this. Robert Gasser will take the mound for Milwaukee, while Blake Snell will be on the mound for the Dodgers. What an opportunity tonight for the Brewers to take one step closer to making the fall classic. Let's dive into my MLB best bets for Wednesday, October 14th.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Betting Insights

In this series the Brewers are showing us all why they led MLB with 103 wins. You don't win that many games without doing it in a number of different ways. In the first two games they have defeated Tarik Skubal and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. In Game 1, they beat the Dodgers in a pitching duel, 2-1 and in Game 2 they defeated LA, 7-4. Game 2 was probably the more impressive win. Yamamoto has been so good for the Dodgers in the playoffs and for him to get early run support and still lose the game was pretty surprising.

Tonight we shift the series to Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers look to avoid going down 0-3. Blake Snell gets the ball and he was hit or miss with Los Angeles in the playoffs last year. Snell faced the Phillies in the NLDS and went 6 innings only giving up 1 hit and no runs. Then he faced this Brewers team in the NLCS last year and went 8 innings giving up 1 hit, no runs, and 10 strikeouts. In the World Series, in two starts vs the Blue Jays, Snell went a combined 11.2 innings pitched, gave up 14 runs hits and 10 earned runs.

He was so dominant against the Brewers last year in the NLCS, I can't wait to see what that matchup looks like tonight.

I don't love to give out bets that are (-174), but when it's a team like the Dodgers in a spot like this I have no problem laying the juice. If they lose tonight the Brewers would be up 3-0 in the series and it would essentially be over. I'll pay to see with LA if they lose tonight. You also have two other options as well. You can parlay the Dodgers with some other game if you want and get a better price or you can roll the dice and maybe hope the Brewers score first or have multiple runners on in the top of the first inning and look to bet the Dodgers live.

There are a lot of ways to go about betting the Dodgers tonight if you don't want to lay the juice, but there is a reason these guys have won the World Series two straight years, they come through in games like this.

The other bet I like tonight is Andy Pages over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBIs for the Dodgers at even money. Pages is 4-5 lifetime against Brewers starter Robert Gasser. He has also been hot as of late from the plate. After an 0-7 start to his postseason he is 5 for his last 13. Anytime you get a hitter who is swinging it well and is facing a pitcher he normally has success against that tends to be a good combo.

A lot of talk about this Dodgers lineup has been about Shohei Ohtani, who is clearly hurt and has been a liability at the plate. Other guys need to step up and I think Pages could be that guy.
