The PGA TOUR heads from the drama of the Open Championship overseas to the low-scoring calm of Blaine, Minnesota. With all four majors now in the books for the year, it's a bit of a letdown on the marquee, but there's still real value to be found before the signature events and the FedEx Cup playoff run take over. Before we move on, check out the action at our top online sportsbooks.

Alright, I'm not ready to move on just yet. Last week Tommy Fleetwood made a run for us, but it was typical Tommy. Three straight bogeys on Sunday sent me into orbit, and honestly, his interviews aren't doing it for me either. He simply sounded happy to be there.

Maybe a decade of near-misses finally caught up to him. It was another respectable major showing, sure, but he tinkled down his own leg in Round 4, and I shouldn't have been remotely surprised.

Meanwhile, for whatever reason, Scottie Scheffler decided this watered-down field was worth playing this week. He's the clear favorite at +280. The rest of the board, though? Wide open. That's exactly the kind of week I want to be all over the each-way market.

Now that I've vented, I'm ready to move on to our best golf bets this week!

You've got to make a truckload of birdies here, but with all that water lurking, accuracy off the tee matters as much as raw scoring. You'll notice most of my card leans on guys who keep it dry and light it up on approach rather than pure bombers, although they've also fared well here.

3M Open Picks and Best Bets

Quick note on structure: the numbers in each header are the each-way prices I'm getting. My main stakes go on these placement bets, and I'll sprinkle a little extra on a 3-places ladder for each guy to double-dip. For example, if I wanted $60 total on Tom Kim, I might put $40 on his 30/1, 5-places ticket and $20 on a shorter 3-places ladder — a nice way to squeeze more out of a strong finish. Here are my 3M Open picks:

Best Bet: +3000, E/W five places

Kim slots in second in my model with the 5th-best course fit, and we're two weeks removed from cashing his outright at a big number — so let's run it back. His missed cut at the Open Championship might scare people off. Not me.

The irons have been dynamite. He won the Scottish Open two weeks ago, and even in the missed cut last week, the approach play kept humming. Per Data Golf's true strokes-gained data, he gained 1.95 on approach, his second massive spike in a row. That's the bread and butter that travels.

Anytime a guy strings together multiple weeks of elite iron play, I'll take my chances, and Kim's been doing it for the better part of two months. Let's not forget the solo third at the U.S. Open exactly a month ago.

The one thing that has to clean up is getting out of the tee box — he was horrendous off the tee last week, and that's a real concern with this much water in play. But he had a short weekend, got home early, and should be fresh.

Kim's 3M history is nothing to write home about, but still solid (T26 in 2022, T28 in 2025), yet he's playing some of the best golf of his career. Give me Kim to keep the hot irons rolling and make some noise at the 3M.

Doug Ghim +5000 — Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Best Bet: +4000, E/W eight places

Ghim grades out as the No. 1 golfer in my model this week with the sixth-best course fit, so I have to play him — especially at a number this friendly. This is the classic "we haven't seen it yet, so does it matter?" case, and my answer is no. Plenty of golfers with Ghim's talent break through eventually. Who's to say this isn't the week?

Like Kim, Doug doesn't have a spike result to point to at the 3M, but he's posted three top-25 finishes here since 2020. What I love is the consistency off the tee — Ghim gains strokes there routinely, and he's a plus-accurate driver who's long enough to keep up.

The putter usually holds him back, but the form is trending: a T6 at the John Deere earlier this month and a T15 at the RBC Canadian Open the month before, with only a missed cut at the Scottish Open mixed in.

My model throws every golfer through a gauntlet — winner trends, course fit, recent form, positive and negative regression off both 12-month and short-term baselines — and Ghim clears enough of those hurdles to grade out on top this week.

Among players with at least 20 rounds this season, he ranks top 10 in total driving, a big box to check at a birdie-fest with water everywhere. Riding him at the top feels a touch uncomfy, but I'm trusting the model. Maybe he'll be called Doug "Him" by Sunday.

Mac Meissner +5000 — Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Best Bet: +4000, E/W eight places

Meissner is another guy checking a ton of boxes, and I think he's due for a breakthrough. He's the sixth-ranked golfer in my model with the eighth-best course fit. The start of his year was rough, but since the beginning of May he's rattled off three top-10 finishes across eight appearances.

He's got real history here too, with a T14 showing at the 3M last year. The off-the-tee game can be hit or miss, but in other news, he's capable of a spike putting week, and he's gained true approach strokes in eight of his last 10 appearances.

Meissner has been a bit Jekyll-and-Hyde the last couple of years, but the flashes are undeniable. In a field this open outside of Scheffler — and with all the scoring on display — somebody's going to get white-hot for a couple of rounds. Why not Meissner?

Ben Kohles +6500 — Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Best Bet: +5500, E/W eight places

Kohles might be the golfer I'm most excited to watch this week. He grades out at No. 8 in my model, and he's gained approach strokes in seven straight tournaments that Data Golf has info on. He also owns a nice history here: a T24 and a T20 in his last pair of 3M appearances.

The trend line is pointing straight up. He won on the Korn Ferry Tour in early June, then reeled off a T20 at the RBC Canadian, a T23 at the U.S. Open, a T19 back on the Korn Ferry, a T3 at the John Deere, and a T15 at the ISCO Championship. Along the way, he's flashed both spike putting weeks and spike approach play — all within the last two months.

My only knock is that he's not long, not even a little. But he's extremely accurate off the tee and generally excellent on approach, and that combo keeps the ball dry and generates birdie looks — exactly what you want here.

The recent putting uptick is a new development that could be the difference-maker, and while these greens historically aren't tough, even bad putters have popped here. He's knocking on the door. I wouldn't be shocked to see Kohles win one of these non-signature events down the stretch, or at least seriously contend.

Lee Hodges +10000 — Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Best Bet: +7000, E/W 10 places

Now, for two pizza-money plays. Hodges isn't near the top of my model, but he ranks 20th, and at these odds he's one of the top value plays on my board — for sure worth a stab. And guess what? He's a former winner of this very event, taking it down in 2023 while adding a T16 back in 2022. That's encouraging at a number this big, even if he's been cut here the last two years.

Hodges posted a T3 just two weeks ago, and twice over his last four appearances he's had big-time spike putting weeks. Another guy who isn't super long, but he's very accurate; we've seen the hot putter, and his approach play is typically solid — including a couple of really nice approach weeks at this tournament over the last four years.

I'm willing to throw a stab that he likes this venue and shows up confident. Just a sprinkle.

Zac Blair +12500 — Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Best Bet: +9000, E/W 10 places

Some more awesome odds here, and honestly I like Blair a touch more than Hodges. He ranks 12th in my model, so if we're talking value discrepancy, Blair is the one, and he's flagged in my model among the 20-or-so golfers trending in the right direction across most facets of their game.

He's in great form with back-to-back top-10s at the John Deere and the ISCO. He had a T13 here in 2023, and while last year's finish wasn't pretty, he did post a spike approach week relative to the field.

Yet, he's another guy who isn't long — so I'm veering off the bomber narrative for most of this card — but he's super accurate, should steer clear of the big numbers, and his approach game is good.

We've also seen some big spike putting weeks from him lately, including a gain of over a true stroke at both the U.S. Open and the John Deere. If you want to ride form and trends, Blair is worth the splash at these odds.

What Is an Each-Way Bet?

An each-way bet is really two bets in one: a win bet and a place bet, stacked on the same golfer for equal stakes. If your guy wins, both halves cash. If he only finishes inside the "places" (say, the top 8), the win half loses, but the place half still pays out at a fraction of the listed odds — usually 1/4 or 1/5, depending on the book.
