It's an Eastern Conference battle on the board today. The Toronto Tempo will be taking on the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight. This will be the first time these two teams meet in Toronto's inaugural season.
Indiana is 8-5 this season and third in the East. They come into this game on a three-game winning streak after another win on Saturday vs. the Sun. The Fever are 7-3 in their last ten games and 5-2 at home this year.

Guard Caitlin Clark is back leading the team. She's averaging 20.3 points, 7.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 41% from the field and 34% from three. Clark has only missed one game so far after missing a lot of time last season with a groin injury.
The former number pick is tied for the points leader on the team with guard Kelsey Mitchell also averaging 20.3 points per game. Center-forward Aliyah Boston is averaging 17 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. She's silently killing it in her corner.
This team's been a little back and forth to start the season. They do rank in the top five of the league for points per game, pace, assists and free throws. Indiana plays a solid defense and has the fifth best defensive rating in the league.

Toronto settling in and finding themselves early in the season

Tempo guard Marina Mabrey calls out the defensive play while getting back after scoring a basket.
The Tempo are 7-7 to start the year and fourth in the East. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak after a bad loss to the Dream on Sunday. Toronto is 5-5 in their last ten games and are 3-4 on the road this season.
It's still all so new for this squad being their first year. Veteran guards Marina Mabrey and Brittney Sykes have taken over as the leaders of the team. Mabrey averages 18 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while Sykes averages 20.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
Those two ladies handle a big load but have help from rookie Kiki Rice and Nyara Sabally. Rice was just drafted and Sabally came from the New York Liberty. Both ladies are averaging just over 12 points and just about 5 rebounds per game so far.
They play good defense where the steal the ball a lot and don't turn it over much. On the other hand, they have one of the worst defensive ratings in the league. Let's check out the odds and get into the Tempo vs. Fever picks.

This should be a good game between two teams only one seed apart. Indiana hasn't looked the best this season, dropping games to the Valkyries, Fire and Wings. I do think they pull this one off, but it's going to be in close fashion.
I like for the Tempo to keep up with them. Indiana hasn't shown anything amazing to lead me to believe that the Tempo can't hang. Toronto is a first-year team and already has 7 wins, which is more than half the wins Dallas all last year.
Give me Aliyah Boston in this one. She is a dominate big going against mediocre defense on the Tempo. She has recorded a double double in each of these last three wins. I like the double double at +120 which is a total miss price. Toronto ranks in the bottom of the league in rebounding, so I expect Boston to eat. The points shouldn't be an issue as she's hit double digits in 11 of their 13 games.
