Two teams face off tonight and one is just a bit better than the other. Western Conference leading Minnesota Lynx will host the Washington Mystics tonight and they have just a bit of an edge.

Although this is the first time they meet this year, Washington has struggled this year. They are the last team in the Eastern Conference with a 5-16 record. Even though they are coming off a loss to the Aces, the Mystics are 5-5 in their last 10 games, but 2-3 in their last 10 games.

Playing on the road has been a tough task for Washington. They're only 2-9 so far this season and they need to get better if they want to make the playoffs. The Mystics have their strengths and weaknesses on offense and defense but need to step it up to compete in this league.

Minnesota looks to bounce back after 2-game losing streak

This Lynx team is nothing to mess with. They're one of the best teams in the league on offense, ranking in 5th for offensive rating. Minnesota ranks 5th for points and 2nd for 3-pointers per game.

With star Napheesa Collier out, the rest of this Lynx team is going to need to step up. Kayla McBride will be shooting the ball more as well as Alanna Smith and Courtney Williams.

Ball movement will be key for the Lynx. If they keep moving the ball, they have capable shooters that can throw the Mystics defense off because they're never sure who will shoot.

Minnesota will have to still play their shutdown defense to keep the Mystics scoring down. They rank 1st in the league for defensive rating and 2nd in steals per game. Collier is averaging 2.2 steals and 1.4 blocks per game, so they will need to fill that void.

Let's just be real here – the Lynx are way better of a team than the Mystics. They play a better game from start to finish and on offense and defense. It will take a village for the Mystics to be able to stop this Lynx team.

I don't think the 9 points is too many. If anything, it's probably not enough, but Napheesa Collier is out. Minnesota should blow their socks off and win this game by double digits. The sportsbooks are even giving us -110 odds, so we're getting great value.

For props, I like Kayla McBride to step up with Collier out and get her points which is 16.5 at -125. I also like Bridget Carleton for 3+ 3-pointers made for +130 odds. Expect this Lynx team to get the W for their missing leader.
