Philadelphia Union vs FC Cincinnati Prediction, Picks & Odds: Will the East’s Top Team Snap Philadelphia’s Home Hot Streak?
With 13 games on the schedule and 26 of the league’s 29 teams in action, a sensational Saturday could be ahead in Major League Soccer. There are several noteworthy matches to look forward to, but the one that sticks out the most is an Eastern Conference clash between the Philadelphia Union and FC Cincinnati (7:30 pm ET, Apple TV)
Entering Saturday’s substantial slate, FC Cincinnati has a nine-point lead over the New England Revolution atop the Eastern Conference and is in a strong position to win the Supporters’ Shield.
If there are going to be any twists down the stretch, Philadelphia must claim all three points in this match. The Union are 11 points behind FC Cincinnati in the standings, but they have a game in hand. With a win for the home side, things could start to get interesting in the race for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and the Supporters’ Shield.
While FC Cincinnati is edging closer to the Supporters’ Shield with each passing week, Philadelphia is favored to take the win at home. And that is for good reason. Not only are the Union a strong team themselves, but they are riding a serious hot streak at home.

Will the Union Be in Seventh Heaven Tonight?
Home has been proven to be a real fortress for several MLS teams thus far this season, including the two teams in this contest.
FC Cincinnati owns the best home record in the league, as they have claimed 37 of a possible 42 points at home (12 wins, one draw, and one loss). Philadelphia, meanwhile, has claimed 29 of a possible 36 points at home, tallying nine wins, two draws, and one loss.
Since a goalless draw against DC United on May 17, the Union have won six consecutive league games at Subaru Park.
Last Six Home Games for the Philadelphia Union (MLS Only)
- September 3: Union 4-1 New York Red Bulls
- July 15: Union 2-1 NYCFC
- June 24: Union 4-1 Inter Miami
- June 3: Union 3-0 CF Montreal
- May 31: Union 1-0 Charlotte FC
- May 20: Union 2-0 New England Revolution’
In their most recent match before the international break, the Union fell behind in the 11th minute. But they produced four goals without reply to win comfortably, with three of the goals coming in the second half after Red Bulls defender Sean Nealis was sent off for a second yellow shortly before halftime.
Orlando City and Real Salt Lake are the only two teams averaging more points per game on the road than FC Cincinnati, which is certainly worth noting.
But the home win is still the move here. Philadelphia has not lost to FC Cincinnati in MLS play, and in addition to their current hot streak, the Union have a record of 15 wins, five draws, and two defeats at home in all competitions (MLS, US Open Cup, Leagues Cup, and CONCACAF Champions League) in 2023.
To date, their only losses at Subaru Park this year are a 2-1 loss to Orlando City in MLS action on March 25 and a 4-1 loss to Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup semis last month.
