Wednesday is blessing us with a full slate of MLS action on the pitch this evening. Don't worry, we've got you covered for all four FIFA Club World Cup matches happening as well. But here, let's dive into our best bets in the MLS.
We are backing the visitors on the ML tonight in Toronto. The hosts are coming off three straight losses, all at home, and have actually lost four consecutive matches at home and six of their last seven at home overall. It's been a brutal stretch for Toronto, and I don't think it gets better tonight.
While the Red Bulls lost their last match against Austin on the road, prior to that they won three straight overall. I'll admit, they aren't the best team on the road, but they've netted 29 goals in 18 matches so far this season. Toronto has only scored 18 in their 17 matches, while they rank No. 14 in the Eastern Conference currently.
The Red Bulls are looking to move up more towards the top of the table, and that starts with three points on the road tonight.
I've loved backing this Earthquakes team all season long, and we'll do it again in Dallas tonight. San Jose leads the Western Conference with 35 goals scored so far this season. They only rank No. 8 on the table because they have also conceded 29 goals in their 18 matches, but tonight they face a team that isn't much of an offensive threat.
I think they roll to victory tonight. They are 1-1-1 in their last three matches, all on the road, scoring one goal in each match. FC Dallas are currently on a three-match unbeaten streak, but have lost two of their last four at home. I think San Jose's offensive attack will be too much for the hosts to handle, resulting in the Earthquakes finding a way to win on the road.
For push potential, I'll certainly back the team who is much better on paper in my opinion.
