MLS

After a couple weeks off of handicapping Major League Soccer, March Madness is coming to a close, so we are diving back into the MLS. We have a massive slate today on the pitch, with a few games in the afternoon and 12 starting at 7:00 p.m. eastern or later. Let's see what our soccer analysts like on this slate and check out their favorite MLS picks for Saturday.

Major League Soccer: Saturday's Predictions April 4

Houston Dynamo vs. Seattle Sounders MLS Picks

Daniel Musovski and Seattle take on Houston in Texas tonight - MLS Picks

Daniel Musovski and Seattle take on Houston in Texas tonight

Best Bet: Seattle Sounders Draw No Bet (-112) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Back the Sounders with me to win this game, with some push potential. Sure, their offense hasn't really lived up to the standard for Seattle soccer. Through five MLS matches, they've only netted five goals, but they have found the back of the net in four separate contests. However, their defense has been rock solid. Through those five matches, the Sounders have allowed just two goals, both coming from Real Salt Lake on the road. They have four shutouts so far this season, including one against Vancouver in the Concacaf Champions Cup as well. Even away from home in Houston tonight, I see their back line being able to contain the Dynamo and limit their chances.

Yes, the Dynamo are averaging two goals per MLS match through four contests. But their defense has been horrid. Houston has allowed nine goals in four matches, giving them a -1 goal differential on the season. They do have two shutouts, but they've allowed six total goals in their last two matches as well. This is a perfect set up for Seattle who will likely only need one goal to win this match, but even if they earn a draw, we can walk away with a push.

Prediction: Seattle Sounders Win 1-0 (+875)

LAFC vs. Orlando City MLS Picks

Back LAFC to add another shutout to their resume tonight at home - MLS Picks

Back LAFC to add another shutout to their resume tonight at home

Best Bet: LAFC ML/Both Team to Score No (+180) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

We are taking a stab at this plus money same game parlay as LAFC hosts Orlando City tonight at BMO Stadium. LAFC has yet to allow a goal this year, and I simply think they continue that streak. For starters, the visitors are only netting one per game through five MLS matches, and they have yet to score away from home. Orlando City have been shutout by Nashville, losing 5-0 at GEODIS Park, and by New York City FC, who also beat them 5-0 at Yankee Stadium. Their only win came against Montreal at home, and LAFC is an MLS Cup contender.

The hosts have not conceded yet this year in the MLS. Sure, they gave up a couple in two legs against Alajuelense in the Concacaf Champions Cup, but no team from their domestic league has been able to break through the back line. For nearly 2-1 odds, I think the hosts can produce another shutout win tonight.

Prediction: LAFC Wins 3-0 (+850)

San Jose Earthquakes vs. San Diego FC MLS Picks

Niko Tsakiris has been a huge part of the Earthquakes' success early on this season - MLS Picks

Niko Tsakiris has been a huge part of the Earthquakes' success early on this season

Best Bet: San Jose Earthquakes ML (+121) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

So far this MLS season, we have backed the Earthquakes three times and have cashed all three wagers. We took their ML at a playable number twice, and then backed them on the double chance line for plus money. Here we go again against the defending Western Conference regular season champions. These two teams split matches last year with the away team coming out on top, but at home tonight, I have faith in the Earthquakes. They have not had a problem scoring at all, and their back line is playing as good as anyone at the moment.

San Jose has allowed just one goal in five MLS matches so far this year, while finding the back of the net seven times. Sure, San Diego can score at will, but defensively they have not been nearly as sound as their hosts. They are 0-2-1 in their last three matches overall, drawing with Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas while losing to Toluca in the Concacaf Champions Cup. Sure, both teams are high up on the MLS Power Rankings, but I give the slight nod to the Earthquakes in this spot.

Prediction: San Jose Earthquakes Win 2-1 (+800)
