Two of the most feared clubs in the English Premier League meet at Anfield on Sunday for the EPL Match of the Week. Liverpool is further down on the table than they would prefer at this point in the season, but they are far from out of it, and still have a great shot at getting into a UEFA Champions League qualifying position. However, they'll have their hands (feet) full on Sunday as they host Manchester City who are second in the league. Who will come out on top? Let's get into our favorite EPL picks and find out.

Virgil Van Dijk has started all 24 EPL matches for Liverpool this year, the only player on the team to do so - Liverpool Manchester City Picks

Virgil Van Dijk has started all 24 EPL matches for Liverpool this year, the only player on the team to do so

This is the second meeting of the season for these teams, as Manchester City came out on top in the earlier contest. They actually blanked their visitors by beating them 3-0 in a dominating win last November. Plus, Erling Haaland had a penalty kick saved, so the score could have been even worse. Even though they lost, Liverpool held over 51.5% of possession and tied City in the corner kick battle, but were heavily out shot.

The hosts mustered up 14 total shots and six on frame, while Liverpool had just a single shot on target and only seven total. That was the first of three straight losses for Liverpool, following their 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the UCL. Will things be different at home?

Liverpool is a team that I still do not have faith in, and I doubt it returns this competition season. Sure they finished third on the UCL table after the League Phase portion of the tournament, and they are still in a fighting position in their domestic league. However Manchester City is simply that big and bad, and I see them flexing their muscle on the road.

The visitors have plenty of rested legs, as they were able to play several reserves in their Carabao Cup Semifinal victory over Newcastle at home, winning 3-1. This is the highest scoring team in the EPL facing a backline that has been underperforming all year long. Plus, they haven't seen an offense like this in a while.

Yes, they were able to hold Arsenal, Inter Milan and Real Madrid all scoreless when playing those clubs. But City is a different animal. Not only are they the lone team netting over two goals per match in the EPL (2.04 to be exact), they also have the second best backline as well. This makes them just one of two clubs allowing less than a goal per match. Liverpool has allowed 33 goals this season, ranking No. 9 on the standings. They will get exposed when Manchester City comes to town.

I don't hate City's Team Total Over 1.5 for +117 as well, but it's tough for me to pass up plus money and push potential, even if they are on the road. They also might have some extra motivation has they have not won at Anfield in over five years.

Prediction: Manchester City Wins 2-1 (+900)
