I lean more with the latter, even though these two teams are VERY good at creating chances and putting the ball in the back of the net. Both teams were very high up in the MLS standings in terms of goals scored last season, but I have been incredibly impressed with their defensive presence so far this year. Will it continue tonight? I think so.

We are taking this under with push potential at a flat three. Again, I cannot stress how dangerous these teams are on offense, which does give me a little pause. However, their defenses have been even better, and I see them playing this one tight. San Jose has literally never beaten LAFC in their past five head to head matches. The team from Los Angeles has won every single match outright. Will that change today? Can San Jose finally get this monkey off of their back?

Ultimately, I think so, and I also endorse San Jose +1 (-128) if you're willing to pay that juice. They are certainly capable of keeping this one close. The Earthquakes have not allowed more than one goal in a match this competition season, and have five MLS shutouts on their resume already. LAFC have recorded six shutouts as well, allowing two goals to the Portland Timbers last week on the road.

I see them fixing their issues and making it tough for this high flying Earthquakes offense to get anything going. But I also see the visitors making it tough on the hosts to create any scoring chances as well.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+700)
