Lichtenberger Wins PokerGO Cup Finale, Wilson Claims Series

The 2026 PokerGO Cup concluded with a historic performance as Andrew Lichtenberger captured the title in Event #10. However, while Lichtenberger walked away with the final trophy of the series, Brock Wilson's consistent high-level play throughout the week earned him the overall PokerGO Cup series championship.

Lichtenberger's Masterclass at the Final Table

Andrew Lichtenberger, the seasoned pro known as "LuckyChewy," entered the final day of the $25,200 Finale in second chip position, trailing only Art Peacock. What followed was a rare and historic display of dominance: Lichtenberger personally orchestrated every single elimination on the final day of play to claim the $257,400 top prize.

He began his "clean sweep" by sending the eventual series champion, Brock Wilson, to the rail in 6th place after his A-7 suited turned the nut flush to beat Wilson's K-6. Shortly after, Lichtenberger eliminated Canadian pro John Krpan in 5th place with K-J making two pair.

He then halted the run of 2015 WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen, knocking him out in 4th place by turning a "wheel" straight (A-2-3-4-5) with A♦10♥. Lichtenberger then moved into a massive chip lead by busting Art Peacock in 3rd place, rivering a pair of nines to overcome Peacock's K♥J♦.

The Duel with Soverel

Heads-up play began with Lichtenberger holding a 2:1 lead over Sam Soverel, but the match proved to be a rollercoaster. Soverel, a three-time bracelet winner, staged a massive comeback to take a commanding 6:1 lead after Lichtenberger unsuccessfully attempted a hero-call with queen-high. However, Lichtenberger remained composed, doubling back into contention when his A♦Q♠ held against Soverel's A♣5♣.

The Final Hand

Lichtenberger eventually regained the lead and applied relentless pressure to pull away. In the final showdown, with blinds at 50,000-100,000, Soverel raised to 225,000 from the button with K♣J♣.

Lichtenberger moved all-in for Soverel's remaining 2,050,000 with A♠10♣, and Soverel called. The board ran out 10♥7♣6♥6♠A♣, giving Lichtenberger aces-up to secure the victory and his ninth career PGT title.

The Ninth PGT Title for "LuckyChewy"

This victory marks Lichtenberger's ninth career PokerGO Tour (PGT) title, moving him further up the all-time leaderboard. Lichtenberger has long been a respected figure in professional poker. Known for his analytical approach, he built his reputation both live and online. His success continues to resonate with players on US online poker sites.

Lichtenberger started the 2026 season on a massive "heater," having already secured multiple deep runs. His career earnings now reflect his status as one of the most successful tournament players in the world, with over $20 million in lifetime cashes.

Brock Wilson Crowned Series Champion

Brock Wilson 2026 PokerGO Cup Champion

While Lichtenberger owned the finale, the story of the week was Brock Wilson. Thanks to a victory in Event #6 and several other deep runs during the festival, Wilson mathematically locked up the PokerGO Cup Series Championship before the final card was even dealt in the finale.

For his efforts across the ten-event schedule, Wilson was awarded the PokerGO Cup trophy and a $25,000 championship bonus.

Both Wilson and Lichtenberger now sit at the top of the early 2026 PGT Player of the Year standings as the tour moves toward its next high-stakes series.
