Josh Reichard Wins Third MSPT Title at Riverside Casino

Josh Reichard continued his remarkable 2026 season by capturing his third Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) Main Event title. The Wisconsin poker pro won the Season 17 Iowa Poker State Championship at Riverside Casino, earning $111,942 after topping a field of 549 entries.

The latest victory adds another milestone to an already memorable year for Reichard. Earlier this summer, he claimed his first World Series of Poker bracelet, and now he joins an exclusive group of players with three MSPT Main Event titles.

One of the tournament's most memorable moments came just before the final table. Reichard eliminated his father, Brett "Pops" Reichard, in 13th place, ending his father's deep run while keeping his own championship hopes alive.

Brett, who was short-stacked in the small blind, moved all in with K♠8♣. Josh isolated with A♣K♣, and the board ran out 4♣6♥6♣3♥5♦. Neither player paired the board, allowing Josh's ace-high to secure the pot and eliminate his father. 

Brett collected $6,397 for his finish, while Josh admitted afterward that knocking out his father was the tournament's most difficult moment.

Players following the action across US online poker sites also watched one of the tour's most accomplished professionals strengthen his legacy with another deep tournament run.

Reichard Dominates the Final Table Before Defeating Jake Wilding

Reichard entered the final table with the chip lead and immediately put that advantage to work. He consistently applied pressure and controlled the action throughout the closing stages.

His first elimination came when Matthew Schurter exited in ninth place. Reichard maintained his momentum as Stan Webb and Chris Wickman followed him to the rail.

Max Havlish finished sixth before Tony Olguin's tournament ended in fifth. Reichard then eliminated Jason Crews in fourth place to tighten his grip on the chip lead.

Three-handed play featured Reichard, Ricky Landais, and Jake Wilding. Landais battled to stay alive, but Reichard eventually sent him home in third place. That knockout gave Reichard a sizable advantage entering heads-up play.

Wilding searched for an opportunity to close the gap, yet Reichard never surrendered control. His relentless pressure prevented the Iowa native from mounting a comeback.

Josh Reichard Seals the Title With a Running Nut Flush

The championship concluded with a dramatic final hand.

Wilding moved all in holding 9♥9♣, and Reichard quickly called with A♠9♠. Wilding began the showdown as the favorite, but the board had other plans.

The dealer spread J♣10♥6♠4♠K♠, giving Reichard running spades for the nut flush and the championship.

Wilding earned $68,763 for his runner-up finish, while Reichard pocketed $111,942 and his third MSPT Main Event title. The victory also added 840 Card Player Player of the Year points to his outstanding 2026 campaign.
