The Dallas Stars travel north of the border for Game 7 against the Calgary Flames. The series has gone back-and-forth with both starting goaltenders stealing the show.

The series has been the lowest scoring out of every first round series. Jacob Markstrom and Jake Oettinger have provided excellent security in net, and the defenses are not giving an inch.

Both teams enter Game 7 healthy and ready for a battle. The Flames will focus on bouncing back after a hard fought loss in Game 6. Dallas will look to carry momentum into their final game of the series after a strong defensive performance.

The odds are in Calgary's favor prior to Game 7. They get to play at home, and their Top 5 defense will make it difficult for Dallas to get the offense going.

Flames Looking to Close

The Flames have won six straight at home following a road loss. They missed out on the opportunity to close out the series on Friday in Dallas. The game was tied in the second period, but a late goal in the 2nd was all the Stars needed to pull ahead for good.

Each of the Flames' last three home games have gone Under the total goals line. Scoring will be at a premium in Game 7, so goaltending will have to stay sharp. Calgary netminder, Jacob Markstrom, has been solid in Round 1 and has only allowed 12 goals in 6 games.

The Flames offense will have to contend with goalie, Jake Oettinger, who has also only allowed 12 goals in the series. Both goaltenders are playing their best hockey in the postseason, and it is evident on the scoreboard.

The Flames have found some success on offense when Johnny Gaudreau is on the ice. He has points in each of the last 4 games, and he is making his presence known, averaging over 20 minutes of ice time.

The Over/Under for this game is only 5 total goals. The odds show another low scoring, defensive battle. I couldn't agree more.

With all of the success that the defenses have had in the first 6 games, it's hard to expect anything different. I predict a game that goes down to the wire. A lucky bounce may be what it takes to propel someone into Round 2.

Flames vs. Stars Prediction and Best Bets

Flames vs. Stars Prediction: Flames 3, Stars 1

Flames vs. Stars Best Bets: Flames -1.5 (+140 at Bovada Sportsbook and +133 at BetUS) and Under 5 total goals (+118 at BetOnline)

The goalies will steal the show again in Game 7. It has been the story all series long, and I don't see it changing in the finale. At +140, Under 5 is not out of the question, and it is worth the risk.

Look for an empty net goal or a lucky bounce to hit the spread for the Flames. If they can maintain a lead heading into the third period, I expect them to be able to pull ahead by at least 2.
