Oilers vs Panthers NHL Game 7 Predictions & Pick (6/24)
The 2024 Stanley Cup Final is the tale of two series as Game 7 looms over the horizon.
When the series began, it didn’t look like it was going to last long. The Panthers took a commanding 3-0 lead while outscoring the Oilers 11-4 on aggregate, making it look as if the latter didn’t belong in the NHL postseason’s final round. For those who waited to see Connor McDavid on hockey’s biggest stage, it was a disappointment.
But then the Oilers began to show some signs of life with an 8-1 blowout in Game 4 to keep their championship aspirations alive. They followed up that victory with a 5-3 win over the Panthers before evening the series with Friday’s 5-1 effort. It’s almost as if the first three games didn’t even happen.
After all hope seemed gone, the Oilers are now back in control of the series, leaving many to wonder if it’s too late for the Panthers to turn things around.
Tonight’s Game 7 is the Oilers’ to lose at this point.
Even though the Panthers are back at home, I can’t bring myself to trust them anymore. They’ve already had three opportunities to close out this series and win the first Stanley Cup in franchise history only to fail each time.
Returning home doesn’t exactly help Florida given that Edmonton is 13-4 SU on its last 17 trips to Amerant Bank Arena. It doesn’t help that the Panthers have also been struggling on special teams, going 0-for-10 on the power play across the last three losses while only killing 10 of 13 penalties (76.9%).
What makes it tougher to trust the Panthers is Sergei Bobrovsky’s play. After playing lights out to begin the series, Bobrovsky owns a 5.06 goals-against average and .793 save percentage since Game 4.
For reference, Stuart Skinner has played to a 1.67 GAA and .942 SV% during that stretch.
The Panthers will struggle to win tonight if Sergei Bobrovsky’s struggles continue.
In the biggest Stanley Cup Final Game 7 of all time, I’m backing the Oilers to win. The Panthers continue to look worse with each passing game and I should be faded after being outscored 18-5 in the last three outings. Edmonton is firmly in control and should be able to put the final nail in the coffin.
Let’s not overthink things tonight. Let’s take the Oilers on the moneyline, especially when you consider that they’re 20-11 SU as the favorite against Eastern teams this season whereas the Panthers are 2-5 SU as underdogs against the West.

Best Oilers vs Panthers NHL Game 7 Player Prop (6/24)
BetOnline’s Stanley Cup Final Game 7 props are currently unavailable. With that in mind, we’ll be heading to Bovada to take Connor McDavid o1.5 total points (-109) for the best option.
McDavid has been the best player this NHL postseason, leading all players with 42 points through 24 games. The three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner already has 11 points through the first six games of this series and has registered a multi-point effort in three of his last four outings. In fact, the Over on this prop is 6-4 in his last 10 games.
With 14 points in his last nine trips to Amerant Bank Arena, I like McDavid’s chances of pulling through on this prop again.
Best Oilers vs Panthers Game 7 Prop Bet: Connor McDavid o1.5 Total Points (-109)
