Best NHL Shots on Goal Player Props Tonight

Today is the last full slate of NHL games we have in the 2022/2023 season and it has been a fantastic ride. The playoffs are almost here, as they get underway next week, and the first round is going to be electric to watch and bet on!

The next 2 months of playoff hockey will be fun, for sure, but today there are lots of games on the ice all over the league tonight and there are some fantastic matchups for Shots on Goal!

If you are new to this market, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

Mika Zibanejad o2.5 SOGs (-144) BetOnline

 

Let's kick this off with one of the most lethal shooters in the NHL with a lot on the line today.

Mika is sitting on 39 goals and will be looking to bag his 40th tonight at home against the Maple Leafs.

Zibanejad should come out ripping tonight, looking to snag his 40th goal of the season and help the Rags finish their season off with a win!

The Rangers have already locked in their playoff position, sitting 3rd in the Metro so tonight is all about getting a win at home to head into the playoffs with momentum.

 

Give me Mika to shoot early and often and grab that 40th goal.

William Nylander o3.5 SOGs (+128) BetOnline

 

Let's stay in this game but move to the other side of the ice and target Nylander for similar reasons to Zibanejad.

Nylander is sitting on 39 goals and should come out firing tonight to bag his 40th goal.

He also has been playing great recently, with 4+ SOGs in 2 of his last 3 games, with a goal in those games as well.

For the value and the incentives associated, give me Nylander all day!

Adrian Kempe o3.5 SOGs (+105) BetMGM

Let's keep it rolling with one of the best shooters in the league in the best possible matchup.

The Kings face off tonight with the Anaheim Ducks, who allow far and away the most shots in the league.

The Ducks allow almost 40 shots per game, 4 shots more than the 2nd place Blue Jackets, and with nothing to play for tonight, things will be loose on the ice in Anaheim.

Kempe had 4 and 5 shots on net in the 2 matchups with the Ducks this season and even though he hasn't been ripping lately, this matchup is too good to pass up.

HOW TO LADDER SHOTS ON GOAL

If you have never laddered a prop before, here is how I do it and you can adjust to your liking.

I play the original line for 1 unit. So for this example the line is 2.5 SOGs.

I then play the next number up, which in this case, is 4+ SOGs, for a half unit.

Lastly, I go up to 5+ and play that for 0.25 units.

So, it's:

o2.5 SOGs- the orignal line, for 1 unit.

4+- 0.5 unit

5+- 0.25 unit

Laddering this way allows you to break even with a small profit if the player hits their orignal line.

Then, you 'climb the ladder.' The higher up the ladder you go, the more profit you make.

I don't go any higher than 2 spots above the original line just to make sure I don't invest too heavily and get screwed by a bad showing.

But by laddering this way, as long as the player hits their original line, you are guaranteed profit.

It's lower risk higher reward than betting a standard line but you have to choose your spots.

You can apply this to all players and all sports. It is fun to do and if done correctly, you can really cash in on some nice plus money plays.
