Penguins vs Maple Leafs Prediction: Plus Money Penguins Too Good to Pass Up (11/11)

The Pittsburgh Penguins travel north of the border to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in what should be a dynamite game featuring two of the most talented teams in the NHL.

The Penguins had a great start to the season, winning 4 of their first 5 games. They then came crashing down to earth, losing their next 7 games.

They finally bucked that trend and picked up a much needed win on Wednesday against the Capitals in DC.

Captain Sydney Crosby has been fantastic, even in the losses, notching 15 points from their first 13 games.

The 35 year old doesn't look like slowing down and he is going to have to continue his playmaking to get the Penguins back to winning ways.

The Leafs will look to capitilize on the Penguins struggles and give them business at home.

The Leafs started the season slowly but have picked it up the last couple of weeks, winning 3 of their last 4 games.

Star forward Auston Matthews hasn't been as prolific scoring goals, only notching 6 so far.

Even without the goals, he has still been making plays, notching 14 points in 13 games and has been very aggressive shooting the puck (more on that later).

In this matchup of these two powerhouses, who will come out on top?

Prediction

While betting on a team that had lost 7 games in a row is hard to fathom, I am going to do it today.

The Leafs, while better recently, haven't been fantastic, and have shown the ability to be very inconsistent.

I think the Penguins are the better all around team and have put that losing streak behind them.

I expect the Penguins to go in to Toronto tonight and give the Leafs all they can handle and get the win.

And at plus money? Say less.

As I mentioned earlier, Matthews has been firing. He hasn't bagged as many goals yet but that hasn't stopped him from shooting.

Matthews has hit his shots in 5 of his last 8 games but he hasn't scored in 2 games.

I expect Matthews to come out firing and wanting to put on a Friday night show in front of the home crowd.
