It's been a fantastic tournament so far and we're getting blessed with the gold medal matchup. USA will take on Canada in a rematch of the gold medal game from the four nations face off. Canada won the four nations final and USA is seeking revenge.
USA has gone undefeated this tournament. They are coming off a dominant semifinal win over Slovakia. The won the game 6-2 and never trailed during the game. Nice way to come into this big game.
This game is going to be the most watched hockey game in history. These two teams went to overtime in the last finals, and we could see that again. This USA team is super driven and playing as a unit though, so they have a chance.
All eyes will be on goalie Connor Hellebuyck. He has been solid in every start and allowing two goals last game matched the amount he'd allowed all tournament. He will be facing the elite talent this game though.

Canada will hope to have their Captain and take home the gold

There could be a huge hole to fill again with captain Sidney Crosby possible out. Canada played from behind most of the game vs. Finland and had the big third period comeback. They're going to need more than that vs. USA.
Connor McDavid is having an unreal tournament with 13 points. It puts him second in points all time in Canadian Olympic history. He wore the C in Crosby place last game and made his country proud with another two assists.
Other players like Macklin Celebrini and Nathan MacKinnon have been killing it. Cale Makar and Devon Toews on defense as well. The talent is all there, it's just going to come down to playing smart hockey and not making a mistake. They have to play chess, not checkers.
Like Team USA, goaltending is going to be the key. Goalie Jordan Binnington is having a good tournament. USA wants the revenge so bad and Binnington stopped them in the four nations face off.

I think this is what is feels like when your team makes the finals (because I wouldn't know lol). Both teams are going to puts the hearts and souls into this game. The four nations final was an absolute dog fight that ended in overtime and we could see it again.
It'll be a different dog fight – this time in skill and not physically. Fighting is an automatic ejection in the Olympics. This is going to come down to smart hockey, not committing stupid penalties and capitalizing on the opportunities you get.
Give me the boys in the red, white and blue to take this. I know it seems crazy, but both teams are just as stacked. If Crosby doesn't play, it may motivate Canada a little more, but USA is buzzing. They are still so butt hurt from last year that they'll kill to win this game.
Let's go ahead and take Connor McDavid for 2 or more points and Jack Eichel for 3 or more shots on goal. What's not broke we don't fix. These guys have been core players for their squads and are needed to win this game.
