Action packed night out west and we're headed to LA. The Kings will host the Dallas Stars tonight at the Crypto.com Arena. This is the 1st time this season these 2 teams meet and it should be a good one.

The Los Angeles Kings are 14-8-3 to start the season and are currently 2nd in the Pacific Division. They are great at home so far with an 8-2-1 record and are on a 3-game winning streak. This team can play both ends of the puck but have really locked down defensively.

On offense, the Kings rank middle of the pack. They are 16th in goals per game, but 22nd in shots on goal per game and 25th on the power play. It is a little surprising after having one of the most dominate offenses last season.

Defensively this team is sound. They only allow 2.68 goals and a league best 24.2 shots on goal per game. David Rittich is expected in net tonight. He has a 9-6-0 record with a 2.48 GAA and a .887 save percentage.

Stars come in hot, looking to keep their 3-game winning streak alive

It has been a pretty good start for the Stars as well. They also come into this game on a 3-game winning streak and are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games. The Stars are 16-8-0 this season and sit 3rd in the Central Division.

Winning games in regulation goes a long way come the later part of the season and Dallas isn't wasting time with overtime. One of their weaker spots is playing on the road where they are 6-6-0.

Matt Duchene leads the team in points with 28. Mason Marchment and Tyler Seguin are right behind him as well. The surprise for the year has to be Jason Robertson. He is coming off a 40+ goal season just 2 seasons ago and has been nothing short of a ghost this season.

Both teams are obviously heating up, but I'm going with the home team. With the way these 2 teams have been playing at home and struggling on the road, it's hard not to go with the trend.

This Kings team, as mentioned before, was one of the best offensive teams in the league last season and I think they might be clicking. This would also be a huge win over a good team, so a giant morale burst to go with it.

Oettinger will pose the biggest problem for the Kings. I definitely lean towards the under in this game with 2 goalies with sub 2.50 GAA's. The Kings will need to play that lock down defense and find the back of the net once or twice to win this game.

I like for Alex Laferriere to record a point. He has 5 points over his last 3 games. Although he plays on the 3rd line, he is on the 1st power play unit. Dallas is committing around 4 penalties per game, so the opportunity should arise.
