The 2024 Stanley Cup Final shifts to Rogers Place on Thursday when the Florida Panthers take on the Edmonton Oilers in a pivotal Game 3 showdown at 8 p.m. ET.
The Panthers took a commanding 2-0 series lead with a massive 4-1 win over the Oilers on Monday. Even though Edmonton took an early 1-0 lead, it was all Florida from the second period on as the Eastern champs scored four unanswered goals — including two from Evan Rodrigues.
Will Florida’s momentum continue on the road? Or can Edmonton take one step closer to evening the series?

Panthers vs Oilers NHL Game 3 Predictions & Pick (6/13)
While tonight’s showdown isn’t a do-or-die scenario, the Oilers can’t take the risk that comes with going down 0-3 against the Panthers. Only four NHL teams have ever come back in a playoff series after losing the first three games and nobody has done it since the Los Angeles Kings pulled off the feat 10 years ago.
If the Oilers want to begin their comeback, they must figure out how to get the offense going again. Despite having a plethora of offensive talents like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, the Oilers have scored just one goal in this series and that didn’t happen until Game 2’s first period.
There’s just been no solving Sergei Bobrovsky, who’s stopped 39 of 40 shots (.975) to begin this series. Florida’s Russian netminder has been a brick wall throughout the 2023-24 postseason and has now tallied a save percentage of .913 or better in nine of his last 10 outings — including in each of the last four.
The Oilers’ goaltending hasn’t been nearly as reliable. Stuart Skinner had his moments earlier in the playoffs but has now played to a .889 save percentage in this series.
Sergei Bobrovsky is a huge reason why the Panthers are up 2-0.
It doesn’t help that Edmonton has also struggled on special teams. The Oilers have failed to score on all seven of their power-play opportunities thus far as the Panthers continue to shut down their top stars. While Florida’s PP hasn’t exactly been clicking either, it at least scored on one of six opportunities in Game 2.
Even though the series shifting to Edmonton should give the Oilers an advantage, that remains to be seen. After all, the Oilers are just 3-6 SU in their last nine home games against the Panthers, which includes being outscored 20-7 in the last three tilts.
Considering how they notched a 5-1 win at Rogers Place back in December, I could see the Panthers winning tonight. The Oilers won’t go down without a fight and having the home crowd on their side should provide a boost, but I can’t bring myself to trust them after scoring one goal through two games.
I also recommend the Under on the 5.5-goal total. The Under is both 5-0 in Florida’s last five games and 4-1 in Edmonton’s five previous outings. In fact, the Under is now 6-3 in the last nine Panthers-Oilers matchups, which averaged 5.9 total goals per game.
With only eight goals scored in the first two games of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, you shouldn’t expect much offense in Game 3.

Best Panthers vs Oilers NHL Game 3 Player Prop (6/13)
You can’t go wrong with plenty of Panthers vs. Oilers Game 3 player props, including Evan Rodrigues o0.5 points (+158).
Although Rodrigues isn’t one of the series’ biggest names, oddsmakers are underrating him with this prop. The 30-year-old forward has 11 points in 19 postseason games and has tallied five points in his last six outings. He finished with the Over on this prop in each of his last three games, which includes his two-goal performance back on Monday.
With the Oilers focusing on containing the Panthers’ top options, players like Rodrigues are left with more favorable matchups. Keeping that in mind, you can’t go wrong with a sprinkle or two on this prop.
