It's the craziest time of year in the NHL and that's the playoff push. Tonight, the Florida Panthers will head north to take on the New York Islanders. These two teams last played at the beginning of the month and the Islanders won 5-4.
New York is 41-27-5 this season and fourth in the Metro Division. They come into this game off a huge win over the Stars on Thursday night. The Islanders are 6-4-0 in their last ten games and 20-12-2 at home.
This conference is crazy with how close it is. They currently sit in the second wild card position after Thursday's win. New York is tied for third in their division, but don't have the tie breaker. It is another option though if the Atlantic teams take the wild card.
Every game is so important for the Islanders being one game out of the playoffs at any point. Most teams they are contending with have a game, if not two games, in hand on the Islanders. It's going to be a entertaining finish to the season.
Goalie Ilya Sorokin will get the start. He is 27-18-2 this season with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Sorokin leads the league in shutouts with seven.

Florida will miss going for the three-peat after disappointing season

The Panthers are 35-33-3 this year and last in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a loss to the Wild on Thursday night 3-2. Florida is 5-5-0 in their last ten games and 16-18-0 on the road.
It's been a disappointing season all around for the Panthers. After winning back-to-back titles, they are on their way to being eliminated from playoff contention this year. Huge shock for a lot of people as they returned basically the same team.
Losing Aleksander Barkov I guess really was that big of an impact. They didn't have Tkachuk for the whole season, but that was the same last year. The other main core of guys – Bennett, Marchand, Reinhart and Verhaeghe – performed well this year, but they couldn't get wins.
In net, we're expected to see Sergei Bobrovsky. He is 26-20-1 this season with a 2.94 GAA and a .878 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Panthers vs. Islanders picks.

Naturally, give me the Islanders in this one. It's a must win game for them and this is a winnable game. They unfortunately tend to lose games they should win and win games they should lose (ex: last game vs Dallas). The value is not there for the POD.
Given the last game these two played, I'm taking the over again. We're getting good value on a low total as well. Sorokin needs to lock in, but I think the Panthers get two past him and the Islanders take care of the rest.
I really like Bo Horvat in this game. He has 16 shots on goal in his last three games with 2 goals as well. Give me him for 4 or more shots on goal which will probably be plus money. I also like for him to score, so we're going to sprinkle the anytime goal.
