It was an absolutely electric game two at the Lenovo Center. The Hurricanes got the win off an overtime goal from forward Nikolaj Ehlers. They'll head to Montreal for games three and four with the series tied at one apiece.
Game two was all Carolina. They got on the board just two and a half minutes into the first period with a goal from forward Eric Robinson. Just about ten minutes later, Canadiens forward Josh Anderson tied the game up and the period ended 1-1.

The second period was played from tight. Each team not wanting to give up the goal, but with three minutes left in the period, the Hurricanes struck. Forward Nikolaj Ehlers scored his third goal of the playoffs to take a 2-1 lead.
In the third, the Canes did everything they could to hold the Habs off. After almost thirteen minutes, Canadiens forward Josh Anderson came through and tied the game again. No one would take the lead from there and we headed to overtime.
It didn't take long for a goal. The Hurricanes won the game just three and half minutes into the period with a goal from Nikolaj Ehlers. It was Ehlers' second goal of the night and sealed the win for Carolina. They out shot and out hit the Canadiens by double in each category.

Montreal will look to adjust to take first game at home

Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake tries to screen Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes.
Even though they didn't have much offense, the Canadiens almost got the job done. They stayed in the game the entire time and didn't back off. The Habs will need to figure out how to get back to that pounding offense though because they were shut down in game two.
We know the Canadiens can score on the Hurricanes because we've seen it plenty of times. Dobes had a rough game, but some defensive blocks could help him out. In the end, 26 shots really isn't that many shots.
This team has also shown they have Freddy Andersen's number. To be able to still get two by him on only 12 shots says a lot. He's going to need to figure out this Canadiens team before they bury him. Let's check out the odds and get into the Hurricanes vs. Canadiens Game 3 picks.

This is going to be another showdown, but I think we see the Canes take it. They're going to come in off such momentum from game two. They also have been hearing all about how they're cursed in the Conference Finals. This is a perfect series to break the curse.
Last game the Canadiens put up 26 shots and only allowed 12. They need Freddy Andersen to tighten up, and they could be winning easily. Their defense is playing elite right now and Carolina's physical game is also going to pay off for them.
Give me Freddy Andersen to hit under his saves line. I hate playing unders, but I think the Canadiens offense gets clamped down again. If that's the case, they won't even break 15 shots, and this is oxygen.
