We have a great matchup here from today's slate. The Anaheim Ducks will head to Canada to take on the Montreal Canadiens. These two teams last met two weeks ago, and the Ducks won in a shootout 6-5.
Anaheim is 36-27-3 this season and second in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game skid after a loss to the Senators yesterday. The Ducks are 6-4-0 in their last ten games and 14-17-2 on the road.
They are in an extremely tight race in their division. Anaheim is one point behind Vegas for the first seed and only two points ahead of Edmonton for the second seed. There is no room for error at this point of the year with sixteen games to go.
Yesterday should've been a must win game for them, so today will absolutely be. Playing on the back-to-back could make it a little challenging, but at least both teams are in the same position. Even more that they both took losses yesterday.
Goalie Lukas Dostal is expected to get the start. He is 26-15-2 this season with a 2.96 GAA and a .891 save percentage. Dostal will be coming off rest as he didn't start yesterday and could be a big factor tonight.

Montreal in just as tight of race as we wind down the rest of the season

Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky takes the puck through two Canadien defenseman to the net.
The Canadiens are 36-19-10 this year and are third in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a loss to the Sharks yesterday. Montreal is 5-2-3 in their last ten games and 18-12-2 at home.
Montreal is in the same position as Anaheim. They're two points out of the second seed in the Atlantic, but also only two points out of dropping to a wild card spot. Just like the Ducks, yesterday was really a must win game.
This team has really played well this season. They're in a really good division where they struggled for years. The collapse of teams like Toronto and Florida has also played into the equation.
In net, we're expected to see back up Jacob Fowler. He is 5-4-2 this season with a 2.55 GAA and a .906 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Ducks vs. Canadiens picks.

I'm going against what the books are thinking. Give me the under in this game. Dostal played last game and will make the proper adjustments to not allowed 5 goals again. Both offenses have been a little absent as of late as well.
The Ducks will also have their way with the Canadiens backup goalie. I think they pull off the win tonight in a low scoring game. This should be a chess match with both teams needing a win badly. Whoever losses is going to be in a tough spot.
Give me Beckett Sennecke to get 3 or more shots on goal. The rookie has taken the league by storm and made a real spot for himself in Anaheim. He has hit in five of his last six games, including have 5 shots in each of his last two games.
