We're going to end the slate in sunny California. The Montreal Canadiens are in town to play the San Jose Sharks. This is the first of two matchups between these two teams this month.
Montreal is 33-17-9 this season and third in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a win over the Capitals on Saturday by a score of 6-2. The Canadiens are 6-2-2 in their last ten games and 16-6-7 on the road this year.
The offense on this Canadiens team has been great. They rank fourth in goals scored and seventh in power play conversion. Although they don't shoot the puck a lot, they have the best shooting percentage in the league, which is huge.
On defense, they could step it up a bit. They rank twenty fourth in goals allowed, but thirteenth in shots on goal allowed. Montreal plays sloppy hockey and commits a lot of penalties with a poor penalty kill to go with it.
Goalie Jakub Dobes is expected to start. He is 19-5-4 this year with a 2.82 GAA and a .893 save percentage. Dobes has split the time with Montembeault this season and has played better than him.

San Jose trying to make the push to get into the playoffs

Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini takes a shot on Canadiens goalie Sam Montembeault from the side of the net.
The Sharks are 29-25-4 this year and fifth in the Pacific. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after a win over the Jets in overtime on Sunday. San Jose is 4-5-1 in their last ten games and 16-10-3 at home this season.
It's been a great year for this young and up and coming team. They currently sit three points out of fourth in the division and only four points out of third. If these kids can get hot and go on a run, they could end up in a better spot than wild card.
On paper, the team isn't very good on either side of the puck. Despite that, they have found ways to win, even if they weren't pretty. They rank toward the bottom of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game offensively.
On defense, they rank in the bottom three of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. In net, goalie Yaroslav Askarov is expected to start. He is 18-16-2 this season with a 3.22 GAA and a .888 save percentage.

I'm torn on who win this game. When you look at the last game they played, it was a dog fight to the end, and I think we see it again. A big offensive, back and forth match that will cash this over for us.
The talent is there on both teams and it's young. Sometimes these kids just want to play heavy on the offense and we see a lot of goals. I honestly see each team scoring at least three goals to cash this and decided in overtime.
I love Macklin Celebrini and especially in a game like this. Give me his 4 or more shot on goal as well as his 2 or more points. In a game like this where I think we see a lot of offense, that has to include him leading the Sharks. He's been great to us this season as well.
