Oh man, how spoiled are we with the ending of this season! Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens take on the Carolina Hurricanes at the Lenovo Center. These two teams last played five days ago and the Canadiens won 5-2.
Montreal is 41-21-10 this season and currently third in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a four-game winning streak after another win yesterday vs. the Predators. The Habs are 7-3-0 in their last ten games and 19-8-8 on the road.
As of now, they are in third place of their division, but that could change very quickly. Boston is only two points behind them to tie for third, but with the standings, the team not in third will move to the first wild card spot. They have a five-point lead over the second wild card spot.
Their offense has been fantastic this season. They rank in the top five for goals scored, power play conversion and they have the best shooting percentage in the league. The number of goals they score shows they can shoot well.
Defense is not as strong. They rank towards the bottom of the league for goals allowed, penalty kill and penalties committed per game. Goalie Jakub Dobes is expected to get the start. He is 24-8-4 this season with a 2.75 GAA and a .898 save percentage.

Carolina quietly coasting all season right into the playoffs

Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis has Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle all over him while trying to get open.
The Hurricanes are 46-20-6 this year and first in the Metro Division. They come into this game off a win over the Devils yesterday. Carolina is 6-4-0 in their last ten games and 26-9-2 at home this season.
It's been a great season for the Canes. They have led the Metro for a good portion of this season, and it is arguably one of the toughest divisions in the league. Carolina has a nine-point lead over second place in the division.
This team has always been a statistical nightmare to face. They rank in the top ten of the league for goals scored per game, shots on goal per game and power play conversion. The Canes defense has always been very good and this year is no different. They rank first for shots on goal allowed per game and eighth in goals allowed per game.
In net, we're expected to Frederik Andersen. He is 13-12-5 this season with a 3.17 GAA and a .871 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Canadiens vs. Hurricanes picks.

I like for this game to over. Last game was a movie with action, and I think we see it again. Carolina's defense is great, but Andersen could get got. This Montreal offense is buzzing as they'll look for their fifth win in a row.
Don't be surprised if Bussi ends up starting for the Canes after Andersen's performance the other day. Carolina has to be looking for a little revenge in this game, so I see them pouring the offense on as well.
Montreal isn't as defensively strong so they will have to rely on their offense. I like for Cole Caufield to continue this tear that he is on. Give me to get 4 or more shots on goal as well for him to score a goal. He is coming off a game with a goal and is on the hunt for a 50 goal season.
