We have a juicy Tuesday slate in the NHL, so let's dive in. The Boston Bruins will head south to take on the Dallas Stars. This is the one and only meeting between the two teams this year.
Dallas is 27-13-9 this season and second in the Central Division. They come into this game on a three-game losing streak after another loss on Sunday to the Lightning. The Stars are 2-6-2 in their last ten games and 12-7-3 at home this year.
Offense on this team has been buzzing all year. They rank tenth in goals scored per game and the third best power play in the league. The Stars rank in the bottom of the league for shots on goal per game but have the second-best shooting percentage in the league. You know they're making those shots count.
On defense, they are pretty solid all around. They rank in the top half of the league for goals allowed per game, shots on goal allowed per game and penalty kill. Dallas commits over four penalties per game on average, so they need to play smart hockey.
Goalie Jake Oettinger is expected to get the start. He is 17-10-4 this season with a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage. Oettinger has two shutouts on the year to go along with it.

Red-hot Bruins will try to make it seven in a row on the road

Bruins goalie Joonas Korpisalo is greeted by his teammates to celebrate after a win.
The Bruins are 28-19-2 and are fourth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a six-game winning streak after another win over the Blackhawks on Saturday. Boston is 8-1-1 in their last ten games and 11-11-1 on the road.
After a rough start to the season, the boys are battling back. The Atlantic, like a lot of the Divisions, is extremely close so they've battled back since this win streak. Offense has been decent so far, ranking eighth in goals scored and fifth in power play conversion. Like Dallas, they don't shoot much but have a good shooting percentage.
Defense is where they need to tighten things up. They rank fifteenth in goals allowed and fifth worst in shots on goal allowed per game. Boston plays a sloppy game and averages almost seven penalties per game. Their 79% kill rate isn't enough to back that up.
In net, we're expected to see Jeremy Swayman. He is 19-11-2 this season with a 2.77 GAA and a .906 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Bruins vs. Stars picks.

We're rooting for goals, goals, goals baby. Boston's hot streak makes me feel even better about this vs. this Stars defense. They're going to be a handful and make this an offense first game by both teams. This is exactly what we want and should see.
I expect both teams to get started early and each score in the first period. Boston has hit over their goal total of 3 or more in their last three games and seven out of their last ten games. I think we see them clear the three and that puts us halfway there. Dallas' offense will do the rest.
Give me Viktor Arvidsson to record 3 or more shots on goal. He has a total of 17 shots on goal in his last three games. Arvidsson has also scored in three of his last four games, which is definitely worth the sprinkle.
I could see Swayman getting peppered. If the Bruins don't play defense well, it's going to give the Stars open chances to shoot better. Boston allows about 30 shots on goal per game and Dallas has the fire power for Swayman to clear his saves line. I'll be taking that and will probably be around 27-28 saves.
