If the start to this series hasn't shocked you then nothing will! We head to Las Vegas for Game 3 of the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights won both games in Colorado and have a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Last game was a chess match for the first two periods. The Avalanche opened the scoring seventeen minutes into the first with a goal by Ross Colton. From there, it became a chess match until the third period with no goals in the second period.

In the third, it was all Vegas. Jack Eichel tied the game up just over nine minutes in. Two minutes later, Ivan Barbashev gave the Knights the lead. Barbashev sealed the game with an empty netter with a minute left in the game.
Colorado out shot Vegas again, this time 30-25. Knights goalie Carter Hart has been fantastic these past two games, allowing only three goals in two games. The Avalanche need to figure out how to crack him if they want to win.

Colorado comes in with backs against the wall and need to bounce back

Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin tries to gain possession of the puck from Knights defenseman Noah Hanafin.
If anytime can make a comeback, it's the Avalanche. They had the best offense in the league this season, they just need to get it going. Colorado really needs a game where they light Knights goalie Carter Hart up and this could be it.
It's not like this team to struggle but the Knights seem to have found their number. Even though they have to go on the road, the Avs are totally capable of stealing games on the road. Regardless of if they can or can't – they' have to.
A lot of talk goes around this being the absence of Cale Makar being felt. I have to agree to some degree because of how big of a part of this team he is, but they have the talent to fill the spot. Someone needs to step up and help produce if he is out again.
Goalie Scott Wedgewood will probably get the start again. Even though he dropped the last two games, the games haven't been completely out of hand. Let's check out the odds and get into the Avalanche vs. Knights Game 3 picks.

This is do or die for the Colorado Avalanche. I mean, if they lose this game, then consider the President's Trophy curse continued. This is an absolute must win game for the Avs and I think they show up and get the job done.
In the end, Colorado is the better team. They should be able to pour the offense on while holding their opponent's offense back. Guys like Brent Burns and Devon Toews need to step up if Cale Makar is out again to support this team.
We're going to rinse and repeat here and go with Carter Hart to get over his saves line. He had 29 saves last game on 30 shots and I think he sees 30+ shots this game. Colorado is going to pour the offense on this game and fire the puck.
