Jets vs Lightning NHL Predictions & Picks (11/14)
The Jets have been making history throughout the 2024-25 campaign and will try to continue that trend tonight. They most recently extended their win streak to seven games with Tuesday’s 6-3 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele each scored two goals while goaltender Connor Hellebuyck stopped 33-of-36 shots sent his way.
Meanwhile, the Lightning have been trending in the opposite direction. The Bolts will return to action for the first time in a week tonight amid a four-game losing streak, leaving time to tell if they can end the slump against the No. 1 club in the NHL at the moment. The one silver lining is that three of those losses came on the road and now Tampa Bay is back at home where it’s 4-2 SU to begin the season.
On the flip side, the Jets have yet to lose on the road, boasting a perfect 7-0 SU away record. What’s even more impressive is that they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.0 goals in those games, winning all but one by a multi-goal margin.
Additionally, the Jets have won each of their last five encounters with the Lightning, which includes outscoring them 7-4 in two victories last season.
The Jets are on a five-game win streak over the Lightning. Will that trend continue on the road tonight?
NHL enthusiasts should expect plenty of firepower when two of the league’s top offenses collide tonight. The Jets are scoring a league-best 4.56 goals per game this season while the Lightning are averaging 3.50 G/PG (8th). Winnipeg also boasts the No. 1 power play, cashing in on 42.2% of opportunities, whereas the Lightning rank 21st with a 17.8% success rate.
Speaking of special teams, the Jets also have the advantage in the penalty kill department (81.6%, 12th) over the Lightning (75.0%, 24th).
Defensively, the Jets are surrendering an NHL-low 2.13 goals per outing and Hellebuyck’s performance has been a big part of that success. BetOnline’s Vezina Trophy favorite (+100) has gone 12-1-0 in his first 13 starts while leading his peers in save percentage (.934), goals-against average (1.92), and shutouts (3).
In other words, the Lightning will need a big performance from goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. On one hand, the Russian netminder has been solid for the most part this season, playing to a .910 SV% and 2.43 GAA with a shutout in his first 12 appearances. On the other hand, Vasilevskiy is winless with two sub-.900 SV% performances in his last three appearances.
Can Lightning G Andrei Vasilevskiy notch his first victory since Oct. 30?
Considering how the Lightning are on a slump and haven’t played in nearly a week, I’m predicting a Jets victory tonight. Winnipeg is the NHL’s best team in just about every area and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Throw in the fact that they’re also 5-0 SU in their last five meetings with the Lightning and it’s even easier to envision the Jets pulling off the road upset in Tampa.

Best Jets vs Lightning NHL Player Prop (11/14)
If you’re searching for a Jets vs. Lightning player prop, I suggest going with Kyle Connor 4+ shots on goal (+112) tonight.
Connor is off to a terrific start to the year, racking up 11 goals and 11 assists in his first 16 outings. He’s always finding a way to generate offense whenever possible and is averaging 3.9 shots on goal per game. The veteran sniper has finished with four-plus SOG in nine of his appearances so far (56.3%), which includes a 6-3 record in his last nine games played.
The good news for Connor is that the Lightning are allowing the 13th-most SOG per game to wingers this season. Having also pulled through on this prop in each of his last four road games, I’m confident that Connor will perform well again on Thursday.
